Its products include journals such as '' The Lancet'', ''Cell'', the ScienceDirect collection of electronic journals, '' Trends'', .... The publisher was founded as an independent publisher in 1990, providing technical databooks to the plastics industry. They are based in Norwich, NY. In 1999, they purchased Noyes Publications. After an 18-month shared distribution agreement, Elsevier purchased William Andrew in January, 2009. Norwich is a city and county seat of Chenango County, New York, United States. Surrounded on all sides by the Town of Norwich,. The name is taken from Norwich, England.
