William Abitbol
William Abitbol (6 September 1949 – 22 December 2016) was a French politician and, in later life, a restaurateur. His father was a Tunisian Jew. He was a member of the far-right militant group "Occident" as a young man. He started his career as an advisor to Charles Pasqua. He served as a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2004. He was a member of the Rally for France The Rally for France (french: Rassemblement pour la France (RPF); also briefly known in 2003 as Rally for France and European Independence or ) was a political party in France of the right. Montparnasse Cemetery
Montparnasse Cemetery (french: link=no, Cimetière du Montparnasse) is a cemetery in the Montparnasse quarter of Paris, in the city's 14th arrondissement. The cemetery is roughly 47 acres and is the second largest cemetery in Paris. The cemetery has over 35,000 graves and approximately a thousand people are buried here each year. The cemetery contains 35,000 plots and is the resting place to a variety of individuals including political figures, philosophers, artists, actors, and writers. Rally For France
The Rally for France (french: Rassemblement pour la France (RPF); also briefly known in 2003 as Rally for France and European Independence or ) was a political party in France of the right. It was founded in 1999 by the Gaullist and former Interior Minister Charles Pasqua, then allied with Philippe de Villiers (ex- UDF). The RPF aimed to fight against globalisation and European federalism. The party was opposed to further European integration. The new party enjoyed early electoral success when it placed second in the 1999 European Parliament election in France, scoring 13 percent of the vote and winning 13 seats. This placed it behind the Socialist Party but ahead of the established centre-right parties, the Gaullist Rally for the Republic- DL list and the UDF. Occident was a far-right militant group, active in France between 1964 and 1968 and considered the "main activist group on the extreme right in the 1960s". Occident activists were known for their "commando" actions against various "enemy" targets, such as left-wing students, PCF offices, immigrant associations, or anti-colonialists. A number of former Occident members later became prominent figures in mainstream right-wing parties, some even obtained ministerial positions.
