Willem De Vries Lentsch
Willem de Vries Lentsch (10 September 1886, Nieuwendam, North Holland – 6 March 1980, Amsterdam) was a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam in the 12' Dinghy. In 1936, with Bob Maas as helmsmen, De Vries Lentsch took part in the Dutch Star ''BEM II'' and took the Bronze. Nieuwendam
Nieuwendam (literal translation: "new dam") is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands, best known for its marina (Dutch: ''jachthaven''). A former village in the province of North Holland, Nieuwendam was a separate municipality until 1921, when it merged with Amsterdam, at the same time as Ransdorp. Gerardus "Gerard" de Vries Lentsch (23 November 1883, Nieuwendam, North Holland – 9 July 1973, Oegstgeest) was a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Adrianus Lambertus Joseph "Bob" Maas (18 October 1907, Batavia, Dutch East Indies – 17 December 1996. Hilversum) was a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and took the Silver medal. In that same Olympics, Maas and his brother Jan Maas, competed in the Dutch Star ''Holland''. In this series Maas took the 6th place. The Maas brothers took part at their own cost. In 1936, with Willem de Vries Lentsch as crew, Maas took part in the Dutch Star ''BEM II'' and took the Bronze. During the 1948 Summer Olympics Bob Maas also took a Bronze medal in the Star.
