Willy Geertje van Ammelrooij (born 5 April 1944), known as Willeke van Ammelrooy, is a Dutch actress and director. Life and career Willeke van Ammelrooy was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She attended drama school in Amsterdam. Van Ammelrooy has acted on stage as well as in films. She participated in 27 movies. Her first film was ''Mira'' in 1971. Success with ''Antonia's Line'' She later starred in the award-winning feminist film ''Antonia's Line'', which tells the story of an independent woman who, after returning to the anonymous Dutch village of her birth, establishes and nurtures a close-knit matriarchal community. Willeke Alberti (born 3 February 1945) (real name: Willy Albertina Verbrugge) is a Dutch singer and actress, the daughter of entertainer and singer Willy Alberti (1926–1985) and Hendrika Geertruida Kuiper (1921–2011). Biography Willeke Alberti started her career at the early age of eleven in the musical ''Duel om Barbara'' and she recorded her first single in 1958 together with her father. During the 1960s, she was a well-known singer in the Netherlands and had at least one No. 1 hit with "De winter was lang" ("It was a long winter"), however there was no official Dutch chart at the time. Willeke and her father had a television show between 1965 and 1969. Her singing career from 1970 onwards is less active, however Alberti still releases singles and albums at an irregular interval and plays minor roles in television programs and movies. Willemina Zwanida "Willeke" Wendrich (born 13 September 1961, Haarlem) is a Dutch and/or American Egyptologist and archaeologist. Wendrich completed her Ph.D. at the Centre for Asian, African and Amerindian Studies (CNWS]) at Leiden University in the Netherlands in 1993.
