Willard Arnold Johnson
Willard Arnold Johnson (August 28, 1862 – May 5, 1923) was an American politician. He served as lieutenant governor of Texas and as a member for the 29th district of the Texas Senate. Life and career Johnson attended the University of Texas studying political science and journalism. In 1911, Johnson was elected to represent 29th district of the Texas Senate, serving until 1919, when Johnson was elected to the Texas lieutenant governorship, serving under Governor William P. Hobby. He served until 1921, when he was succeeded by Lynch Davidson Lynch Davidson was an American politician who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Texas from 1921 to 1923. Texas Senate
The Texas Senate ( es, Senado de Texas) is the upper house of the Texas State Legislature. There are 31 members of the Senate, representing single-member districts across the U.S. state of Texas, with populations of approximately 806,000 per constituency, based on the 2010 U.S. Census. There are no term limits, and each term is four years long. Elections are held in even-numbered years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. In elections in years ending in 2, all seats are up for election. Half of the senators will serve a two-year term, based on a drawing; the other half will fill regular four-year terms. In the case of the latter, they or their successors will be up for two-year terms in the next year that ends in 0. As such, in other elections, about half of the Texas Senate is on the ballot. Lynch Davidson was an American politician who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Texas from 1921 to 1923. Biography Davidson was born on January 3, 1873, in Cotile Landing, Louisiana, now Boyce, Louisiana, to Lieutenant William Neal Davidson and Laura Cecelia Lynch, a native of Washington County, Texas whose father Joseph Penn Lynch was a veteran of the Texas Revolution, and served primarily during the Battle of San Jacinto. Davidson moved to Groesbeck, Texas as in infant. He remained in Groesbeck until 1887, when he finished high school at age 15 and moved to Houston. Upon his move, he immediately set out to become a lumberman in order to support his widowed mother. He was able to secure a job at a sawmill in Groveton. After 5 years of selling lumber in Mexico, he opened his own business in Laredo at the age of 23. He was married to Katie Calvert in June 1897, and they had three daughters, Marion, Lois, and Katie.
