Will Ye No Come Back Again
"Will Ye No Come Back Again" is the twelfth episode of the fifth and final series of the period drama '' Upstairs, Downstairs''. It first aired on 23 November 1975 on ITV. Background "Will Ye No Come Back Again" was recorded in the studio on 1, 7 and 8 August 1975. The location footage was filmed in Applecross in Wester Ross, Scotland, and was filmed from 6 to 9 May. The idea behind part of the plot, regarding poaching, was taken from the 1953 film ''Laxdale Hall'', which was written and produced by Alfred Shaughnessy, the script editor of ''Upstairs, Downstairs''. The only main cast member needed for the location scenes was Gordon Jackson, who was provided with a double so he was only needed for one day of filming. Despite being the twelfth episode to air, "Will Ye No Come Back Again" was the last episode of ''Upstairs, Downstairs'' to be recorded in the studio. ''Upstairs, Downstairs'' is a British television drama series produced by London Weekend Television (LWT) for ITV. It ran for 68 episodes divided into five series on ITV from 1971 to 1975. Set in a large townhouse at 165, Eaton Place in Belgravia in central London, the series depicts the servants—"downstairs"—and their masters, the family—"upstairs"—between the years 1903 and 1930, and shows the slow decline of the British aristocracy. Great events feature prominently in each episode but minor or gradual changes are also noted. The show may be regarded as a document of the social and technological changes that occurred during those 27 years, including the Edwardian period, women's suffrage, the First World War, the Roaring Twenties, and the Wall Street Crash. David Langton
David Muir Langton (born Basil Muir Langton-Dodds; 16 April 1912 – 25 April 1994) was a British actor who is best remembered for playing Richard Bellamy in the period drama '' Upstairs, Downstairs''. Early years David Langton was born Basil Muir Langton-Dodds to a middle-class family in Motherwell, Lanarkshire in 1912. His father was a wine merchant and Langton's family moved to England when he was four years old. He attended a prep school in Bath, Somerset and left education at the age of 16. Jacqueline Tong
Jacqueline Tong (born 21 May 1951) is an English actress. She is best known for playing Daisy Peel in the television series '' Upstairs, Downstairs'' (1973–1975), for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Continuing Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1977. Jack Watson (15 May 1915 – 4 July 1999) was an English actor who appeared in many British films and television dramas from the 1950s onwards. Early life Watson was born in Thorney, Cambridgeshire. Madeleine Angela Clinton-Baddeley, CBE (4 July 1904 – 22 February 1976) was an English stage and television actress, best-remembered for her role as household cook Mrs. Bridges in the period drama '' Upstairs, Downstairs''.
