Will Hanafin
William Hanafin is an Irish journalist, researcher, television producer and radio presenter from Youghal, County Cork. Hanafin was a print journalist with the '' Irish Examiner'' before working as a researcher on '' The Late Late Show''. He spent the final year of Gay Byrne's tenure and the first four years of Pat Kenny's tenure working on ''The Late Late Show''. He also trained as a television producer with state broadcaster RTÉ, obtained a degree in zoology and is a qualified barrister. His writing can be read in the '' Sunday Independent''. A feature on ''The Ray D'Arcy Show'' on Today FM, largely in the background offering advice to listeners but sometimes presenting the show by himself, he has been with Today FM for four years and presented his own segment, "Where there's Will... Dublin City University (abbreviated as DCU) ( ga, Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath) is a university based on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. Created as the ''National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin'' in 1975, it enrolled its first students in 1980, and was elevated to university status (along with the NIHE Limerick, now the University of Limerick) in September 1989 by statute. The ''Sunday Tribune'' was an Irish Sunday broadsheet newspaper published by Tribune Newspapers plc. It was edited in its final years by Nóirín Hegarty, who changed both the tone and the physical format of the newspaper from broadsheet to tabloid. Bertiespeak or Bertie-speak is a way of speaking the English language as spoken by former Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. Ahern's use of Bertiespeak has been credited as playing an integral part in the Northern Ireland peace process and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair was noted on at least one occasion to have allowed Ahern to use Bertiespeak when confronted with a tricky question posed by a journalist. On another occasion when Unionists on a visit to Government Buildings in Dublin made a complaint Ahern was said to have "drowned" them "in a torrent of Bertie-speak", according to Deaglán De Bréadún. References to Bertiespeak appeared regularly in the Irish media during Ahern's administration. Brian Cowen Nude Portraits Controversy
Two oil paintings depicting the then-Taoiseach of Ireland Brian Cowen in the nude were briefly displayed in Dublin art galleries in March 2009. The response of the media, politicians and the Garda Síochána (Irish police force) led to a sustained controversy referred to by some as Portraitgate. Portraits The artist, initially unidentified, was eventually revealed to be Conor Casby, a school teacher in his thirties from Claremorris, County Mayo. The first portrait was surreptitiously hung in the National Gallery of Ireland on 7 March 2009. Casby is said to have entered the National Gallery carrying a shoulder bag, and located a free space for his portrait and its caption among other portraits of prominent Irish people such as Michael Collins, W.
