Wilfried Benjamin Balima
Wilfried Bendjamin Balima (born 20 March 1985) is a retired Burkinabé international footballer who spent the majority of career with Moldovan National Division club Sheriff Tiraspol as a right defender. Career Club In June 2017, Balima left Sheriff Tiraspol after twelve years with the club. Balima re-signed for Sheriff Tiraspol on 20 July 2017. On 24 January 2020, Balima announced that he had retired from football, and that he had joined the coaching staff of Sheriff Tiraspol. International Balima played for the Burkina Faso under-21 team and the senior national team from Burkina Faso. 2008–09 Moldovan National Division
The 2008–09 Moldovan National Division ( ro, Divizia Națională) was the 18th season of top-tier football in Moldova. The season started on 2 July 2008 and ended on 17 May 2009. Just prior to the start of the season, FC Politehnica Chișinău withdrew from the competition, causing the league to play with 11 teams this year. Further, CSCA-Steaua Chișinău merged with Rapid Ghidighici. The new club play under the name CSCA-Rapid Chișinău. Clubs Promotion and relegation Due to the withdrawal of FC Rapid Ghidighici in mid-November 2007, no teams were relegated to Moldovan "A" Division. 2019 FC Sheriff Tiraspol Season
The 2019 season was FC Sheriff Tiraspol's 23rd season, and their 22nd in the Divizia Naţională, the top-flight of Moldovan football. Sheriff defended their Divizia Naţională title, winning it for the 18th time whilst also winning the 2018–19 Moldovan Cup and progressing to the Quarterfinal stage of the 2019–20 Moldovan Cup that will take place in the 2020 season. In Europe, Sheriff were knocked out of the Champions League by Saburtalo Tbilisi in the first qualifying round and then by AIK at the third qualifying round of the Europa League. 2012–13 Moldovan National Division
The 2012–13 Moldovan National Division ( Moldovan: Divizia Naţională) is the 22nd season of top-tier football in Moldova. The competition began on 13 July 2012 and ended in May 2013. The league comprises 12 teams, 11 from the 2011–12 season and one promoted site from 2011–12 A Division. Sheriff Tiraspol are the defending champions. Teams CSCA–Rapid Chişinău and FC Costuleni were originally relegated on competitive grounds at the end of the 2011–12 season as they finished in the bottom two places of the league table.
