WildBrain Ltd. (formerly known as DHX Media, Ltd.) is a Canadian media, animation studio, production, and brand licensing company, mostly associated as an entertainment company. The company is known for owning the largest library of children's television programming, which is distributed through its multi-channel network, WildBrain Spark, and a group of Canadian specialty television channels. DHX was founded in 2006 when the entertainment entrepreneurs Michael Donovan and Steven DeNure gained control of Decode Entertainment and the Halifax Film Company. Wild Brain Family International Limited, operating as WildBrain Spark (formerly WildBrain), is a British multi-channel network owned by the Canadian media company WildBrain (formerly DHX Media). It distributes and produces children's video content for YouTube and other digital platforms. The division officially launched in 2016; it reuses trademarks associated with WildBrain Entertainment, an animation studio that had been acquired by DHX. It maintains offices in London. The division is responsible for distributing pre-existing material and creating original animated and live-action shorts based on properties owned by its parent company and partners. History In January 2016, DHX Media announced that they would be building a 60,000 square-foot studio in Vancouver that would focus on both animated and live-action productions. The production teams of the former Studio B Productions, which DHX Media acquired in 2007 and Nerd Corps Entertainment, which DHX acquired in 2014 were relocated to the new building later in the year. (stylized as W!LDBRAIN, formerly Wild Brain Productions and sometimes simply WildBrain) was an American animation studio that developed and produced television programming, motion pictures, commercial content, and licensed merchandise. WildBrainTV is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by WildBrain. WildBrainTV broadcasts live-action and animated children's programming aimed towards audiences ages 6–15. The channel first launched on June 1, 2011, under the ownership of Astral Media. It initially operated as a localized version of Disney XD, under license from Disney Channels Worldwide, as a sister network to Family Channel. Following the acquisition of Astral Media by Bell Media, Disney XD was divested to DHX Media (now WildBrain) in 2014. Télémagino is a Canadian French-language specialty channel owned by WildBrain. Launched on 5 July 2010, as a sister to an equivalent English-language service, it airs children programming for ages 2–11. Not only is it a French version of Family Jr., but it also doubles as a French version of Family Channel.
