Polish (Polish: ''język polski'', , ''polszczyzna'' or simply ''polski'', ) is a West Slavic language of the Lechitic group written in the Latin script. It is spoken primarily in Poland and serves as the native language of the Poles. In addition to being the official language of Poland, it is also used by the Polish diaspora. There are over 50 million Polish speakers around the world. It ranks as the sixth most-spoken among languages of the European Union. Polish is subdivided into regional dialects and maintains strict T–V distinction pronouns, honorifics, and various forms of formalities when addressing individuals. Frank Wilczek
Frank Anthony Wilczek (; born May 15, 1951) is an American theoretical physicist, mathematician and Nobel laureate. He is currently the Herman Feshbach Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Founding Director of T. D. Lee Institute and Chief Scientist at the Wilczek Quantum Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), distinguished professor at Arizona State University (ASU) and full professor at Stockholm University. Wilczek, along with David Gross and H. David Politzer, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2004 "for the discovery of asymptotic freedom in the theory of the strong interaction". Piotr Antoni Wilczek (born 26 April 1962 in Chorzów) is a Polish intellectual historian, a specialist in comparative literature and a literary translator, who served as the Ambassador of Poland to the United States (2016–2021) and the United Kingdom (since 2022). Marcin Bartłomiej Wilczek (born 25 April 1967 in Warsaw) is a Polish diplomat, Poland Ambassador to Turkey (2008–2012) and to Romania (2015–2019). Education and career Marcin Wilczek graduated from the University of Warsaw Institute of Applied Linguistics (M.A., 1991) and the National School of Public Administration (1994). Kamil Wilczek
Kamil Antoni Wilczek (Polish pronunciation: ; born 14 January 1988) is a Polish professional footballer who plays for Piast Gliwice and the Poland national team. He is usually deployed as a striker for both club and country. Wilczek played for Carpi in 2015, before making the move to the danish club Brøndby IF half a year later in January 2016. He became captain of Brøndby in 2019 following the departures of Johan Larsson and Benedikt Röcker. Count Johann (Hans) Nepomuk Wilczek (german: Hans Graf Wilczek; 7 December 1837 – 27 January 1922) was an Austrian arctic explorer and patron of the arts. He was the main sponsor of the Austro-Hungarian North Pole Expedition in 1872–74. Countess Georgina von Wilczek (24 October 1921 – 18 October 1989) was Princess of Liechtenstein from 1943 to 1989 as the wife of Prince Franz Joseph II. She was the mother of Prince Hans-Adam II and was widely known as Gina. Biography Princess Georgina was born on 24 October 1921, in Graz, Austria. She was the daughter of Count Ferdinand von Wilczek (1893-1977) and Countess Norbertine "Nora" Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau (1888-1923). Erwin Wilczek (20 November 1940 – 30 November 2021) was a Polish professional footballer who is most famous for his 1960s performances in both Górnik Zabrze and the Poland national team. He started as a forward, after some time he was moved to midfield. Career Wilczek was born in Wirek, a district of Ruda Śląska. He began his career with local team Wawel Wirek. In 1954 he moved to Zryw Chorzów and in 1959 to Górnik Zabrze, where he stayed until 1973. Wilczek played in 293 Ekstraklasa games as well as in 101 games of various competitions (Cup of Poland, European Cups). Ernő Wilczek (sometimes spelt Vilczek; 6 May 1883, in Kaposvár – 13 May 1950, in Budapest) was a Hungarian engineer. He graduated from the Budapest University of Art and Design in 1905 and then worked for several companies, in France and England, as a distributor of electric generators. From 1910 to 1933, he worked at the Ganz Works, first as a machine engineer, later as the head of the engineering department. He was an associate of Ottó Bláthy, Titus Bláthy. In 1920, he won the Károly Zipernowsky, Zipernowsky jubilee award for his scientific and technical activities. He specialized in standardization.
