''Wilbur'' is a Canadian live-action/animated children's television series that premiered on the Ready Set Learn block on Discovery Kids (now Discovery Family) in the United States on April 16, 2007 and then moved to TLC on April 23, 2007. The series was produced by Mercury Filmworks, in association with Chilco Productions, EKA Distribution and Egmont Imagination. The series ended on March 18, 2008. Reruns aired on The Hub until June 25, 2012. Plot A key aim of the show was to get young children excited about reading, as its tagline is "Books are moo-ve-lous" and the phrase features in the show's theme song, as well. Each episode of ''Wilbur'' was split into two shorts. In each short Wilbur and his friends would encounter a problem. After this, Wilbur gets a wiggling sensation which prompts him to read a book that guides the group in solving their problem. Wilbur Theatre
The Wilbur Theatre is a historic performing arts theater at 244–250 Tremont Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The Wilbur Theatre originally opened in 1914, but underwent renovations in 2008. The Wilbur Theatre sits in the heart of Boston's historic theater district and is known for hosting live comedy and music. The venue seats 1,093, but the main floor (orchestra level) has removable tables and seating, to create a general admission standing room (bringing capacity to 1,200). It features basic concessions, including a full bar, on each of the three floors (Orchestra, Mezzanine, Balcony). History Clarence Blackall built the theater in 1913, and it was opened the following year. Wilbur Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Watauga River in Carter County, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is one of two dams on the river owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. Most of the Wilbur brand products were produced in plants chocolate manufacturing company located in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Wilbur Kookmeyer is the title character of a cartoon strip by Bob Penuelas which first appeared in Surfer magazine in 1986. Wilbur is a kook, a wanna-be surfer of limited skill. He wants to be cool, but remains dorky. Penuelas created Wilbur as a response to cynical commercialism that got into surfing in the early 1980s. ''Wilbur Comics'' was a comic book published from 1944 to 1965. The comic featured the fictional character Wilbur Wilkin, a contemporary of Archie. Wilbur Wilkin actually made his first appearance in ''Zip Comics'' #18, three months before Archie's first appearance. Wilbur also made appearances in several other Archie comics, such as ''Pep Comics'', as a backup feature. Of particular note, popular Archie character Katy Keene made her first appearance in ''Wilbur Comics'' #5. This title was published originally under the imprint of MLJ Magazines, which then became Archie comics starting with issue #8. After issue #87 (December 1959), the book went on hiatus until August 1963's #88. After 1 more issue in 1964 and 1 in 1965, the series was canceled with issue #90.
