Andrzej Wiktor
Andrzej Wiktor (1931–2018) was a Polish taxonomy (biology), taxonomist of terrestrial slugs. His considerable research output includes a number of comprehensive reviews that document the slug faunas of particular countries or revise the taxonomy of whole family (biology), families. He worked for almost all of his career at the Museum of Natural History, University of Wrocław in Poland. Career Andrzej Hubert Wiktor was born 4 February 1931 in Nowa Wieś, Rzeszów County, Nowa Wieś, near Rzeszów, in south-east Poland. He studied biology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poznań University and then at the University of Wrocław. After completing his doctorate in 1962 while employed at the Wrocław Medical University, the rest of his career was based at the Museum of Natural History, University of Wrocław, of which he became Director in 1980. Wiktor Ormicki
Wiktor Ormicki (born ''Wiktor Rudolf Nusbaum'', 1898–1941) was a Polish geographer and cartographer, and a university professor. He was of Jewish descent. A specialist in economical geography and demography, he served at various posts in the Jagiellonian University, Wolna Wszechnica, Higher Trade School of Kraków and Lwów University. Wiktor Wysoczański (born 24 March 1939, in Verkhnie Vysotske) is an Old Catholic bishop and the present Superior of the Polish Catholic Church. He became Superior in 1995, succeeding Bishop Tadeusz Majewski. Wiktor Wiechaczek
Wiktor Wiechaczek (nom de guerre ''Oset''; 10 October 1879 – 3 June 1941) was a Polish soldier, who participated in the Silesian Uprisings. Born on 10 October 1879 in Ruda Śląska, Wiechaczek was a Polish patriot, living in Upper Silesia, which then belonged to Germany. In 1913 he took part in a strike in the ''Pawel'' coal mine, for which he was fired. After 1918, Wiechaczek actively participated in pro-Polish movement in Silesia, and together with Józef Trojok, he was one of leaders of the First Silesian Uprising. In 1921, he was a member of the Wawelberg Group (BTW the only one from Upper Silesia, all the other members were from Poland), and for his activities, Wiechaczek was awarded the Virtuti Militari cross, number 7840. Wiechaczek was arrested by the Germans on 3 May 1940, and transported to the Dachau concentration camp, and later to Oranienburg Oranienburg () is a town in Brandenburg, Germany.
