Andrzej Wiktor (1931–2018) was a Polish taxonomy (biology), taxonomist of terrestrial slugs. His considerable research output includes a number of comprehensive reviews that document the slug faunas of particular countries or revise the taxonomy of whole family (biology), families. He worked for almost all of his career at the Museum of Natural History, University of Wrocław in Poland. Wiktor Poliszczuk (10 October 1925 in Dubno near Rivne – 17 November 2008 in Toronto) was a Polish-Ukrainian-Canadian (a Canadian citizen of Polish-Ukrainian descent) politologist specialising in the history of political thought, who wrote about the Polish-Ukrainian relations during World War II and issues relating to the emergence of Ukrainian nationalism in the 20th century resulting in a campaign of ethnic cleansing. Wiktor Brillant
Wiktor Brillant (1877–1942) was a Polish pharmacist from Jaroslaw (Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia, Poland) who was killed by the Nazis. Family Wiktor was the eldest son of Henrieta (née Rapaport) (1846–1918) and Karl Brillant from Tarnopol, then a part of the Austrian Empire. Wiktor's sister Dora Brillant was born in 1881. Wiktor married Laura Brillant (née Sturmlauf) on August 28, 1904 at Przemyśl, Przemysl. They had four sons. Karol-Ludwig, also a pharmacist, was born in 1905 and was killed by the Nazis in 1942. Wiktor Gilewicz codename "Wolf" (b. 13 January 1907 Glukhov, Sumy Region – currently Ukraine, d. 10 November 1948 Kozhva, Pechora Region, Komi Republic – currently Russia) was a radio communication officer, captain of the Polish Home Army, and chief of the Section V (Communication) of the Command of Siedlce Region ZWZ-AK "Sowa" – "Jesion" in 1941–1944. Wiktor Axel Unander (18 December 1872 – 20 September 1967) was a Swedish Army officer who also served in the French Army in Algeria and in the Ottoman Army in the Balkans. Wiktor Tołkin
Wiktor Tołkin (February 21, 1922 in Tołkacze, Poland – May 7, 2013) was a Polish sculptor and architect. A member of the Armia Krajowa resistance during World War II; he was arrested by the Gestapo, and incarcerated at Auschwitz from November 17, 1942 to February 1944. During this period Tołkin survived a death march to Stalag at Sandbostel. Work Tołkin graduated from two universities, the Gdańsk Polytechnic, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, to become one of the more influential Polish artists of the 1960s. He is best known for his monumental sculptures built in memory of the victims of the German concentration camps in Stutthof and Majdanek. Wiktor Eckhaus (28 June 1930 – 1 October 2000) was a Polish–Dutch mathematician, known for his work on the field of differential equations. He was Professor Emeritus of Applied Mathematics at the Utrecht University. Biography Eckhaus was born into a wealthy family, and raised in Warsaw where his father was managing a fur company. During the German occupation of Poland, he, his mother and sister had to hide because of their Jewish descent. His father, after being a prisoner of war, joined the Russian Army. After the war, in 1947, the re-united family came to Amsterdam – via a refugee camp in Austria. Wiktor Zygmunt Przedpełski
Wiktor Zygmunt Przedpełski (born 2 or 3 June 1891, Krasne (Przasnysz County), died 5 August 1941, New York) was a Polish socialist and independence activist, member of the Sejm. Life In 1908 he passed his final exams at the Real School of Witold Wróbleski in Warsaw, after which he joined the Faculty of Chemistry at the Lviv Polytechnic, where in 1924 he obtained the title of engineer. After 1907, Przedpełski belonged to the PPS-Left. In 1914 he was arrested in the Kingdom of Poland and deported to the Tobol Province. In the years 1917-1919 he was active in the Polish independence movement in Russia.
