''Wii Party'' is a party video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. The game heavily borrows game play elements from the ''Mario Party'' series, another Nintendo franchise. It is also the first game in the ''Wii'' series that Shigeru Miyamoto did not produce. NDcube
is a Japanese video game developer and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo based in Japan with offices in Tokyo and Sapporo. The majority of the company is made up of former employees of Hudson Soft. They have also been the developers of the ''Mario Party'' series since '' Mario Party 9'' onwards. History The company was founded on March 1, 2000, as a joint venture between Nintendo and the biggest advertising firm in Japan called Dentsu, hence the "ND" in the name. Nintendo had at the time 78% of the shares of the company, while 13.3% of the shares were owned by Dentsu and the rest of the 8.7% were owned by other shareholders. ''Kotaku'' is a video game website and blog that was originally launched in 2004 as part of the Gawker Media network. Notable former contributors to the site include Luke Smith, Cecilia D'Anastasio, Tim Rogers, and Jason Schreier. History ''Kotaku'' was first launched in October 2004 with Matthew Gallant as its lead writer, with an intended target audience of young men. ''Nintendo Selects'' (formerly ''Player's Choice'') was a marketing label used by Nintendo to promote video games on current Nintendo game consoles that have sold well. ''Nintendo Selects'' titles were sold at a lower price point (usually $19.99 instead of $59.99) than other games. The program paralleled other budget range software by Sega (Sega All Stars), Sony (the Greatest Hits and Essentials), and Microsoft (Platinum Hits and Xbox Classics) to promote best-selling games on their consoles as well. In Japan, the discount label was introduced in 2015 for various Nintendo 3DS titles as the Happy Price Selection, although South Korea adopted the Nintendo Selects name at an earlier period. The Nintendo Selects program ended with the Wii U and 3DS, and as of January 2022, no Switch games have been rebranded as Nintendo Selects.
