Bill Wiggin
Sir William David Wiggin (born 4 June 1966) is a British Conservative Party politician, and a former Shadow Minister for Agriculture & Fisheries. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Herefordshire, previously Leominster, since the 2001 general election. Early life Wiggin was born in London in 1966. He attended Eton College, where he was an older contemporary of David Cameron, and later read Economics at the Bangor University, gaining a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 1988. He also served in the Royal Welch Fusiliers in the TA, being a platoon commander for Holyhead, Bangor and Caernarfon. Following this, Wiggin worked as a Trader in Foreign Exchange Options for UBS from 1991 to 1993, then was an Associate Director of Kleinwort Benson from 1994 to 1998, then as a manager in the Foreign Exchange department of Commerzbank from 1998. Paul Wiggin
Paul David Wiggin (born November 18, 1934) is a former American football player and coach who currently serves as the senior consultant for pro personnel with the Minnesota Vikings. After graduating from Stanford University in 1957, he spent his entire 11-year playing career as a defensive end with the Cleveland Browns until his retirement following the 1967 NFL season. Twice earning Pro Bowl honors, Wiggin was a key member of the team's defensive line when it won the 1964 National Football League title with a 27–0 shutout of the Baltimore Colts. The Wiggin Baronetcy, of Metchley Grange in Harborne in the County of Stafford and of Garth Gwynion in Machynlleth in the County of Montgomery, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 17 June 1892 for Henry Wiggin. He was the founder of Henry Wiggin and Co Ltd, manufacturers of specialty metal products, and also represented Staffordshire East (as a Liberal) and Handsworth (as a Liberal Unionist) in the House of Commons. Thomas Wiggin
Captain Thomas Wiggin (1601–1666), often known as Governor Thomas Wiggin, was the first governor of the Upper Plantation of New Hampshire, a settlement that later became part of the Province of New Hampshire in 1679. He was the founder of Stratham, Rockingham, New Hampshire, which celebrated its 300th anniversary of incorporation in 2016. The son of a vicar in the Church of England with family ties to important and influential families of the era. Samuel Adams Wiggin (1832–1899) was an American poet, born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on May 27, 1832. Wiggin pursued a military career until Vice President Andrew Johnson became president after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865. He was then appointed White House Office of the Executive Clerk, executive clerk or private secretary to President Johnson, a position which he held for eight years and three months. He died on July 15, 1899, at his home, named Fernwood, in Washington, DC, following a fall down a flight of stairs. Poetry Many of his poems were published in newspapers of the day and were written in Poets' Corner in the White House. Kate Douglas Wiggin
Kate Douglas Wiggin (September 28, 1856August 24, 1923) was an American educator, author and composer. She wrote children's stories, most notably the classic children's novel ''Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm,'' and composed collections of children's songs. She started the first free kindergarten in San Francisco in 1878 (the Silver Street Free Kindergarten). With her sister during the 1880s, she also established a training school for kindergarten teachers. Kate Wiggin devoted her adult life to the welfare of children in an era when children were commonly thought of as cheap labor. Wiggin went to California to study kindergarten methods. She began to teach in San Francisco with her sister Nora assisting her, and the two were instrumental in the establishment of over 60 kindergartens for the poor in San Francisco and Oakland.
