Wig (film)
''Wig'' is a 2019 documentary film by Chris Moukarbel about Wigstock, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and later was telecasted on HBO on June 18, 2019. Summary Spotlighting the art of drag and centered on the New York staple Wigstock, ''Wig'' showcases the personalities and performances that influence the way that people understand queerness, art and identity in today's world. The film juxtaposes present-day footage with archival footage from previous editions of Wigstock and home videos. Chris Moukarbel is an American director and producer. He is best known for his 2017 film '' Gaga: Five Foot Two'', a critically acclaimed documentary about American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga. His first feature documentary '' Me at the Zoo'' premiered in competition at Sundance Film Festival in 2012 and was acquired by HBO Documentaries as part of their summer series. The film charts the rise of YouTube and tells the story of an early viral Internet celebrity, Chris Crocker of “Leave Britney Alone!” fame. Moukarbel was approached by Sheila Nevins to direct the Emmy nominated documentary '' Banksy Does New York''. Charlene Incarnate is a Brooklyn-based female performer and writer. She started out her gender transition as a drag queen as part of her life experience. Early life and education Charlene grew up in Alabama and moved to New York to attend New York University. She began exploring the Brooklyn drag scene in the early 2010s. Work Charlene is an ambassador and regular performer at the annual Bushwig festival held in Ridgewood, Queens. The weekend-long festival began in 2012 and has showcased more than 750 drag stars, artists, and performers from across the country and around the world. She was crowned Miss Bushwig 2017. The Movie
"The Movie" is the 54th episode of the sitcom ''Seinfeld''. It is the 14th episode of the fourth season, and first aired on January 6, 1993 on NBC. Willam Belli (, born June 30, 1982), mononymously known as Willam, is an American drag queen, actor, singer-songwriter, reality television personality, author, and YouTuber. Willam came to prominence as a contestant on the fourth season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race'' in 2012, but was disqualified in the "Frenemies" challenge. ''Hedwig and the Angry Inch'' is a rock musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Trask and a book by John Cameron Mitchell. The musical follows Hedwig Robinson, a genderqueer East German singer of a fictional rock and roll band. The story draws on Mitchell's life as the child of a U.S. Army major general who once commanded the U.S. sector of occupied West Berlin. The character of Hedwig was inspired by a German divorced U.S. Army wife who was Mitchell's family babysitter and moonlighted as a prostitute at her trailer park home in Junction City, Kansas. The music is steeped in the androgynous 1970s glam rock style of David Bowie (who co-produced the Los Angeles production of the show), as well as the work of John Lennon and early punk performers Lou Reed and Iggy Pop.
