Wifaq Ul Madaris Al-Arabia
Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Arabia, Pakistan ( Urdu: ) is the largest federation of Islamic seminaries in Pakistan, founded in 1959. More than 10,000 seminaries and 23,000 madaris across Pakistan are affiliated with the federation. It controls all the seminaries which are run by Deobandi School of thought. Mufti Taqi Usmani has been appointed as the new president on 19 September 2021 after the death of the former president, Abdur Razzaq Iskander. Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari is general sectary of the federation. The head office of the federation is situated in Multan. Functions The functions of 'Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan' are the registration of seminaries, creation of syllabus, checking standard of education, arrangement of examination and issuance of degrees. Mufti Taqi Usmani
Muhammad Taqi Usmani (born 5 October 1943) is a Pakistani Islamic scholar and former judge who is the current president of the Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia and the vice president and Hadith professor of the Darul Uloom Karachi. An intellectual leader of the Deobandi movement, he has authored 143 books in Urdu, Arabic and English, including a translation of the Qur'an in both English and Urdu as well a 6-volume commentary on the ''Sahih Muslim'' in Arabic, ''Takmilat Fath al-Mulhim'' and ''Uloomu-l-Quran''. He has written and lectured extensively on hadith, and Islamic finance. He chairs the Shariah Board of the Bahrain-based Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). He is also a permanent member of the Jeddah-based International Islamic Fiqh Academy, an organ of the OIC. Abdur Razzaq Iskander
Abdur Razzaq Iskander (1935 – 30 June 2021; ur, ) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and writer. He was the chancellor and senior hadith-professor of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia, emir of the Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nubuwwat and the president of Wifaqul Madaris in Pakistan. He was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Karachi, Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia, Islamic University of Madinah and the Al-Azhar University. He authored books such as ''At-Tarīqat al-Asriyyah'' and ''Tahafuzz-e-Madāris''. Biography Abdur Razzaq was born in 1935 into a religious family in Kokal, Abbottabad District. Qawmi Madrasah ( bn, কওমী মাদ্রাসা, ar, المدرسة القومية, al-Madrasah al-Qawmiyyah) is an adjective describing one of the two major madrasah educational categories in Bangladesh. The Qawmi madrasahs are not regulated by the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board. Madrassas In Pakistan
Madrassas of Pakistan are Islamic seminaries in Pakistan, known in Urdu as ''Madaris-e-Deeniya'' (literally: religious schools). Most madrassas teach mostly Islamic subjects such as ''tafseer'' (interpretation of the Quran), ''hadith'' (thousands of sayings of Muhammad), ''fiqh'' (Islamic law) and Arabic (the language of the Quran); but include some non-Islamic subjects (such as logic, philosophy, mathematics), which enable students to understand the religious ones. Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-Madaris Pakistan is a federation of associations representing the madrassas (Islamic schools) of different schools of Islam in Pakistan. Saleemullah Khan
Saleemullah Khan (1921 – 15 January 2017) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and former President of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan. His students include Muhammad Rafi Usmani and Muhammad Taqi Usmani. Khan established Jamia Farooqia in Karachi in 1967. Education and career Saleemullah Khan was born in Muzaffarnagar, India. Starting in 1942, he studied at Darul Uloom Deoband, India. He studied there under the guidance of Hussain Ahmad Madni, Izaz Ali Amrohi and many other teachers. He completed his traditional dars-e-nizami degree in 1947. Then he taught at a seminary in India for eight years before he decided to migrate to Pakistan. In Pakistan, he founded Jamiah Farooqia, Karachi in 1967. Khan taught at Tando Allahyar, Sindh, Pakistan for three years and also at Dar-ul-Uloom, Karachi later. Muhammad Yousuf Banuri
Muhammad Yousuf Banuri (7 May 1908 – 17 October 1977) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, founder of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia and former President and Vice President of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan from 30 May 1973 to 17 October 1977. Education and career Yousuf Banuri received primary education from his father and maternal uncle. Then he went to Darul Uloom Deoband, India, for higher Islamic education.
