Abdur Razzaq Iskander
Abdur Razzaq Iskander (1935 – 30 June 2021; ur, ) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and writer. He was the chancellor and senior hadith-professor of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia, emir of the Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nubuwwat and the president of Wifaqul Madaris in Pakistan. He was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Karachi, Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia, Islamic University of Madinah and the Al-Azhar University. He authored books such as ''At-Tarīqat al-Asriyyah'' and ''Tahafuzz-e-Madāris''. Biography Abdur Razzaq was born in 1935 into a religious family in Kokal, Abbottabad District. He was schooled at the Madrassa Darul Uloom Chohar Sharif, Haripur and the Ahmed Al-Madrassa Sikandarpur. Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia ( ur, , ''Jāmi‘ah ‘Ulūm-i Islāmīyah'' / , ''Jāmi‘atul-‘Ulūmul-Islāmīyah'') is an Islamic University in Banoori Town, Karachi, Pakistan. Darul Uloom Karachi
Darul Uloom Karachi ( ur, دارالعلوم کراچی) is a Madrasa in Karachi, Pakistan. It was founded by Muhammad Shafi Deobandi in June 1951 at Nanak Wara and later on it transferred to Korangi, Karachi, on March 17, 1957. It continues the tradition of the Darul uloom system initiated by Darul Uloom Deoband. The institution has adopted a balanced approach between religious and worldly matters. The secondary schools have individual faculties for both boys and girls. Sayed Nafees Al-Hussaini
''Sayyid'' (, ; ar, سيد ; ; meaning 'sir', 'Lord', 'Master'; Arabic plural: ; feminine: ; ) is a surname of people descending from the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandsons, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali, sons of Muhammad's daughter Fatima and his cousin and son-in-law Ali (Ali ibn Abi Talib). Nizamuddin Shamzai
Nizamuddin Shamzai (12 July 1952 – 30 May 2004) was a pro-Taliban Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar and the senior professor of hadith at the Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia. He was considered "one of the most important Deobandi figures in Pakistan" and the mentor of Mullah Mohammed Omar. He issued religious edicts and travelled to elicit support for the Taliban. Wali Hasan Tonki
Wali Hasan Tonki (born; 1924 - 3 February 1995) ( Urdu: ) was a Pakistani Mufti, Islamic scholar, judge and writer. Early life and education Wali Hasan was born in 1924 to Mufti Anwarul Hassan Khan in Tonk district. His father and grandfather, Muhammad Hassan Khan were muftis in the Sharia Court of Tonk. He studied Persian and other books of Arabic from his father. His father died when he was 11. In 1936 his paternal uncle Haider Hassan Khan took him to Darul-uloom Nadwatul Ulama and studied for four years. And then he studied random books from his paternal uncle in Tonk. Muhammad Yousuf Banuri
Muhammad Yousuf Banuri (7 May 1908 – 17 October 1977) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, founder of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia and former President and Vice President of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan from 30 May 1973 to 17 October 1977. Education and career Yousuf Banuri received primary education from his father and maternal uncle. Then he went to Darul Uloom Deoband, India, for higher Islamic education. Dars-i Nizami is a study curriculum or system used in many Islamic institutions (madrassas) and Dar Ul Ulooms, which originated in the Indian subcontinent in the 18th century and can now also be found in parts of South Africa, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the UK. Wifaqul Madaris
Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Arabia, Pakistan (Urdu: ) is the largest federation of Islamic seminaries in Pakistan, founded in 1959. More than 10,000 seminaries and 23,000 madaris across Pakistan are affiliated with the federation. It controls all the seminaries which are run by Deobandi School of thought. Mufti Taqi Usmani has been appointed as the new president on 19 September 2021 after the death of the former president, Abdur Razzaq Iskander.
