Its seat is the town of Chorzele, which lies approximately north of Przasnysz and north of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 10,117 (out of which the population of Chorzele amounts to 2,783, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 7,334).
