Wiechers-Sport
Wiechers-Sport is a German auto racing team which is based in Nienburg. The team was first established in 1999, competing in German touring cars. The team currently competes in the World Touring Car Championship. World Touring Car Championship BMW 320i (E46) (2005–2006) Since its inaugural year in 2005, they have entered cars in the FIA World Touring Car Championship as an independent team with BMWs. In that first year, Marc Hennerici won the Independents Trophy for the team. European Alfa Challenge driver Emmet O'Brien tested for the team at Oschersleben in December 2005. Stefano D'Aste
Stefano D'Aste (born 26 February 1974 in Genoa) is an Italian auto racing driver. His early racing career included competing on motorcycles and the Monza International Rally. He has competed in the World Touring Car Championship between 2004 (when it was known as the European Touring Car Championship) and 2013. Racing career World Touring Car Championship Proteam Motorsport (2005–06) In 2005 D'Aste competed for Proteam Motorsport in a BMW 320i, finishing third in the Independents' Trophy, with second overall in the second race at Spa-Francorchamps as his best result. 2009 FIA WTCC Race Of France
The 2009 FIA WTCC Race of France was the fourth round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season and the fifth running of the FIA WTCC Race of France. It was held on 17 May 2009 at the temporary Circuit de Pau street circuit in Pau, France. It was the headline event of the 2009 Pau Grand Prix. Both races were won by Chevrolet with Robert Huff winning race one and Alain Menu winning race two. 2008 World Touring Car Championship Season
The 2008 World Touring Car Championship season was the fifth World Touring Car Championship season, the fourth since its 2005 return. It began on 2 March, and ended on 16 November, after twenty-four races. The championship, which was open to Super 2000 Cars and Diesel 2000 Cars, was composed of the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers. Frenchman Yvan Muller won the Drivers title by 26 points from SEAT team-mate Gabriele Tarquini, with Chevrolet's Robert Huff finishing third just a point behind Tarquini. Fredy Barth
Frédéric Nicolas "Fredy" Barth (born 5 December 1979 in Lucerne) is an auto racing driver from Switzerland. He currently drives in the World Touring Car Championship. Racing career Early years Barth started out in karting before stepping up to French Formula Renault Campus in 2001, where he finished fifth. In 2002 he moved to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, although he scored no points in nine starts. In 2003 he competed in Formula Volkswagen Germany, where he finished tenth. 2009 FIA WTCC Race Of Spain
The FIA WTCC Race of Spain 2009 was the fifth round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season and the fifth running of the FIA WTCC Race of Spain. It was held on 31 May 2009 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, near Valencia in Spain. Laurent Cazenave
Laurent Cazenave (born 25 April 1978, in Pau) is a French auto racing driver. In 1997 he finished third in Class B of the French Formula Ford Championship. From there he switched to saloon car racing in 1999, with two years in the French Super Production Championship. He finished third in his second year with two race wins, driving a Peugeot 306. Since then he has competed regularly in the French GT Championship, driving cars such as a Porsche 996, a Chrysler Viper, and most recently a Corvette C5 in 2008. In 2001 he drove in six rounds of the FIA GT Championship in a Porsche 911 for Haberthur Racing. The team got just three points in the N-GT Class. He made a brief return to touring cars in 2008, entering two rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at his home town of Pau. Marc Hennerici (born 10 May 1982 in Mayen) is a German auto racing driver. He is best known for being the first winner of the World Touring Car Championship's Independents Trophy, in 2005. Racing career Hennerici competed in Formula BMW from 1999 and 2001. In 2003 he won the Alfa Romeo 147 Cup in Germany. In 2004 he competed in the DMSB Produktionswagen Meisterschaft driving a BMW 320i for Wiechers-Sport, finishing fourth. He and Wiechers-Sport moved to the new World Touring Car Championship in 2005. Despite not scoring any points in the main championship when rival independent Tom Coronel scored 11, he still was able to win the Independents Trophy. In 2006 he finished fifth in the VLN series. Emmet O'Brien
Emmet O'Brien (born 7 March 1981, in Dublin) is an Irish auto racing driver. Career O'Brien started competing in the Irish Karting championships at a young age, he finished 2nd in the National Irish Formula A karting championship for PCR in 1998 and also finished 2nd in the All Ireland's in 1998 winning four races. His early racing included the British Formula Palmer Audi championship in 2000 which he competed in straight out of karting, in 2001 he competed in British Formula Ford championship for Aztec Racing. O'Brien then signed up for two years in the British SEAT Cupra Championship. In 2005 he competed in the European Alfa Romeo 147 Challenge for PRS racing, where he went on to win the Rookie championship with 10 wins.
