Wide Eyed (Nichole Nordeman Album)
''Wide Eyed'' is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Nichole Nordeman, released on September 22, 1998 by Star Song Records and Sparrow Records. After winning a songwriting competition hosted by the Gospel Music Association in 1998, Nordeman signed a record deal with Star Song and Sparrow and began to work on her debut record. A ten-song set, ''Wide Eyed'' sees her collaborating with Mark Hammond to co-write the tracks for the album, which he also produced. Describing it as having a piano-driven sound, Nordeman cites the facet of honesty as the ''Wide Eyed''s main theme — using theological and philosophical concepts to write its lyrical content. Nichole Ellyse Nordeman (born January 3, 1972) is an American Contemporary Christian music, contemporary Christian singer and songwriter. Biography Nordeman was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she played the piano in church. She got her start when she entered a Gospel Music Association (GMA) contest in Los Angeles, California and was noticed by a music producer. She has won multiple GMA Dove Awards, including two awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. Her best-known songs include "Why", "This Mystery", "Holy", "Legacy", "Brave", and "What If". She also sang a song on the soundtrack ''Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia'', called "I Will Believe". Tony Cummings is the founding editor of the magazine '' Cross Rhythms''. Biography Cummings' journalistic career started in 1963. He started a black music fanzine originally called ''Soul'', then ''Soul Music Monthly'', and finally ''Shout''. By 1971, he was writing occasionally for ''Record Mirror''. In 1973, he joined ''Black Music'' magazine as a staff writer, eventually becoming editor. It was founded under the name ''Cross Rhythms Magazine'' by editor Tony Cummings, and printer Mark Golding in April 1989, with the first issue being made available in May 1990. A pedestrian crossing (or crosswalk in American English) is a place designated for pedestrians to cross a road, street or avenue.
