"Wide Awake" is a song by American singer Katy Perry from '' Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection''. She co-wrote the song with Max Martin, Bonnie McKee, and its producers Dr. Luke and Cirkut. It was specifically written for Perry's autobiographical film '' Katy Perry: Part of Me''. Capitol Records released the song onto radio stations on May 22, 2012. Downtempo (or downbeat) is a broad label for electronic music that features an atmospheric sound and slower beats than would typically be found in dance music. Closely related to ambient music but with greater emphasis on rhythm, the style may be played in chillout clubs or as "warm-up or cool-down" music during a DJ set.
