Wicomico Sr. High School
Wicomico High School (commonly abbreviated "Wi Hi") is a high school located in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. It is one of four public high schools in Wicomico County along with James M. Bennett High School, Mardela Middle and High School and Parkside High School. Wicomico High School currently enrolls grades 9 through 12. Its mascot is the Indian and its colors are blue and gold. History In 1931, the school moved to its previous campus on East Main Street. The building was quickly outgrown, and in 1954 the current facility on Long Avenue was completed at a price of 1.5 million dollars, and was named Wicomico Senior High School. In 1995, it was renamed to Wicomico High School. The former high school building on East Main Street is now Wicomico Middle School. Wicomico County Public Schools is the public school district for Wicomico County, Maryland. WCPS has 24 schools, consisting of 16 elementary, 1 elementary/middle, 3 middle, 1 middle/high, and 3 high schools. The district has over 15,000 students and close to 1,300 teachers. It is the largest school district on the Eastern Shore. Demographics Ethnic composition of the district in 2020 was 44% Caucasian, 37% African American, 11% Hispanic/Latino, 3% Asian, 8% two races. Wayne Warren (born 12 June 1962) is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in events of the World Darts Federation (WDF). He was the last ever BDO World Darts Champion. He is the oldest player to become world champion. Darts career BDO Warren qualified for the 2005 BDO World Darts Championship, where he was the only Welshman in the field. He lost 3–0 in the first round to third seed Mervyn King. Michael Phillip Seidel (born January 18, 1956) is an American meteorologist who has worked at The Weather Channel since March, 1992. He is noted for his field reporting from breaking weather including severe weather, hurricanes, and snowstorms. He's been live on The Weather Channel in 48 states, DC and Puerto Rico, plus Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and Cuba and had done over 24,000 live shots. Early career Seidel's interest in weather started at the age of six when he began measuring snowfall in his hometown of Salisbury, Maryland.
