Who, Me
''Who, Me'' is a ''Doctor Who'' themed stage show directed and co-devised by Scott Gooding, starring comedian Rob Lloyd and produced by Laura Milke Garner. Lloyd uses a fake courtroom setting to analyse whether ''Doctor Who'' has made him an obsessive or a better person, with stories and photos from his childhood. In 2013 the show was toured to Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Critical reaction Simon Wong for 3 News in New Zealand considered it was still enjoyable even for non Who fans, though they might miss a few jokes. ''Edinburgh Reviews'' gave it 3/5, finding it felt a bit rushed and had problems adjusting for the audience, comprising both children and adults, saying that the show was more personal history than something for fans of the TV program. Rob Lloyd (comedian)
Robert "Rob" Lloyd (born 3 April 1978) is an Australian actor/comedian who was the host of the RMITV flagship program ''Live on Bowen'' for the first two seasons. He was the host, co-writer and producer of '' The Mutant Way'', which won several 2010 Antenna Awards. Rob also has a ''Doctor Who'' themed stage show called '' Who, Me'' that has had sell-out seasons at the 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival, the 2011 Armageddon convention (Melbourne), the 2012 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. North Melbourne Town Hall
North Melbourne Town Hall is the former town hall of the Town of North Melbourne (originally the Town of Hotham) in Victoria, Australia. It was listed on the former Register of the National Estate on 21 March 1978 and on the Victorian Heritage Register on 11 March 2010. It was built in 1876 as the town hall for the Town of North Melbourne, and operated in that capacity until the municipality amalgamated into the City of Melbourne in 1905. It thereafter continued to serve as a venue for public meetings and was used for various community purposes. It now houses Arts House, a contemporary arts space, and the North Melbourne Library. ''Doctor Who'' is a British science fiction television series broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The series depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (also referred to as The Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, or Edinburgh Fringe Festival) is the world's largest arts and media festival, which in 2019 spanned 25 days and featured more than 59,600 performances of 3,841 different shows in 322 venues. The Melbourne Fringe Festival is an annual independent arts festival in Melbourne, Australia, usually over three weeks from late September to early October. Held since 1982, the Festival includes a wide variety of art forms, including theatre, comedy, music, performance art, design, film, cabaret, digital art, and circus. Armageddon (convention)
Armageddon Expo is a New Zealand owned and operated pop culture convention that holds multiple events around New Zealand in cities including Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga and Christchurch. The event, run by Beyond Reality Media Premier Event Management, has been running continuously since 1995. It has evolved from its roots of comics and trading cards to showcase computer and video gaming, animation, film and television, cosplay, comics, live wrestling, and retailers selling pop-culture merchandise. Adelaide Fringe Festival
The Adelaide Fringe, formerly Adelaide Fringe Festival, is the world's second-largest annual arts festival (after the Edinburgh Festival Fringe), held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. Melbourne International Comedy Festival
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is the largest stand-alone comedy festival and the second-largest international comedy festival in the world. Established in 1987, it takes place annually in Melbourne over four weeks, typically starting in March and running through to April. The Melbourne Town Hall has served as the festival hub, but performances are held in many venues throughout the city. The Perth International Comedy Festival is an Australian not-for-profit festival. History The PICF organizing committee was created in mid-2011 and went on to launch an inaugural festival in May 2012. This festival was 19 days in length and was held in the Mount Lawley area of Perth, Western Australia, across four different venues. 150 performances of an international, national and local calibre were presented to an audience of more than 26,000. 51 of the performances were sold out, and 82% of the total audience capacity was reached.
