Whitney Osuigwe
Whitney Osuigwe ( ; born April 17, 2002) is an American tennis player. In 2017, Osuigwe was the ITF Junior World Champion. She won the juniors 2017 French Open to become the first American to win the girls' singles event in Paris in 28 years. Personal life Osuigwe has been playing tennis at the IMG Academy since age six, where her father Desmond has been a teacher at the academy since 1997 and acts as her primary coach. Desmond is from Lagos in Nigeria and played professional tennis events at the ITF Futures level before coming to the United States to attend college. Whitney has an older brother named Deandre who is a college basketball player and a younger sister named Victoria who also plays tennis. 2019 Wimbledon Championships
The 2019 Wimbledon Championships was a Grand Slam tennis tournament that took place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. The main tournament began on Monday 1 July 2019 and finished on Sunday 14 July 2019. The defending gentlemen's singles champion Novak Djokovic retained his title, while the defending ladies' singles champion Angelique Kerber lost in the second round to Lauren Davis. ITF World Champions
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) designates a World Champion each year based on performances throughout the year, emphasising the Grand Slam tournaments,ITF Constitution, p.26, Rule 2.2(a)(iii) and also considering team events such as the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. Men's and women's singles champions were first named in 1978; the title is now also awarded for doubles, wheelchair, and junior players. It is sometimes named the "ITF Player of the Year" award, alluding to similar other year-end awards in tennis. 2019 Hopman Cup
The Hopman Cup XXXI was the 31st and final edition of the Hopman Cup tournament between nations in men's and women's tennis that took place at the Perth Arena in Perth, Western Australia. On 26 June 2018, the defending Swiss team of Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic and 2018 finalist German team of Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber were announced as the first teams for the 2019 tournament. On 15 August 2018, the teams of Greece and Spain were announced. For the first time in history, Roger Federer and Serena Williams faced each other in a competitive event. Federer came out victorious alongside Bencic in the mixed doubles rubber. This match also attracted a Perth Arena record tennis crowd of 14,064, which was the highest attendance for a tennis match in Western Australian history. Jennifer Capriati
Jennifer Maria Capriati (born March 29, 1976) is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. A member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, she won three singles Grand Slam titles and was the gold medalist at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Capriati set a number of youngest-ever records at the start of her career. Claire Liu (born May 25, 2000) is an American tennis player. On 24th October 2022, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 60. In 2017, she was the world No. 1 in the junior rankings, after winning the Wimbledon girls' singles title, and finishing runner-up at the French Open. Liu also won a junior Grand Slam doubles title at Wimbledon with Usue Arconada in 2016. As a professional, Liu has won one singles title and one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour as well as six singles titles and one doubles title in tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit.
