Whitehall Colmcille GAA
Whitehall Colmcille (Irish: ''Fionnbhrú Colmcille'' ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based on Collins' Avenue in Dublin 9, Ireland. The Club has contributed in a big way to the success of various County Football teams and All Ireland titles producing many well known names. History Whitehall Gaels took over the lease Thorndale Tennis Club had with Dublin Corporation on Collins Avenue in 1966. Whitehall Gaels merged with Cumann Barra Colmcille in 1973 the objective being of strengthening the Hurling side of the Club, as Colmcille was basically a Hurling Club. Both clubs had senior officials linked to each other that made the amalgamation a smooth one. The Club has won Hurling and Football Championships since then. The club is still there with a popular members bar (opened 1978), sports hall (built 1986) and ancillary rooms. Ellenfield Park
Ellenfield Park (sometimes called Whitehall Park) is a public park in Whitehall, Dublin, managed by Dublin City Council's parks department. History The park is on the land where once stood Clonturk Cottage, later renamed Ellenfield House. During The Emergency / Second World War, Ellenfield Park was used for allotments (hence the nickname of the playing fields ''The Plots''). Dublin Corporation developed the Ellenfield lands as a public park in the 1950s. The park's western and northern boundaries was altered during the construction, in 1983, of the Santry Bypass (M1 Motorway). During the construction of the Dublin Port Tunnel, which started in 2001, the re-alignment of the Swords Road caused the park's north and western perimeters to be further altered. Lee Gannon
Lee Gannon (born 2000) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays for Dublin Championship club Whitehall Colmcille. He has also appeared at inter-county level as a dual player with Dublin. He usually lines out as a corner back for the Dublin senior football team and Centre back for Whitehall Colmcille. Career A member of the Whitehall Colmcille club in Dublin, Gannon first came to prominence at schools' level as captain of the combined Dublin North team that won the Leinster Colleges Championship in 2018. Paul Clarke (Irish Footballer)
Paul Clarke (born 1966 in County Dublin, Ireland) is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Whitehall Colmcille club and was a senior member of the Dublin county team for a number of years, starting in 1985. He won his only All-Ireland medal in 1995, the same year in which he won his only All Star award. Married in 2015 to Emer Mullaney and first child born Ben Stephen Clarke in June 2016. Biography Having played soccer as a child up to Under-14 level, Clarke began playing Gaelic football while at school at St. Aidan's CBS, in Dublin. He went on to join Whitehall Colmcille's, his local club, and was quickly noticed and selected for the inter-county Under 14 side, with whom he went on to win an under-14 leinster title. Cormac Costello (born 18 July 1994) is a Gaelic football forward for the Dublin county team, with which he has won three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals and four National Football League medals. The former Ardscoil Rís student plays his club football for Whitehall Colmcille.
