The German White Book
''The German White Book'' (german: Das Deutsche Weißbuch) was a publication by the German government of 1914 documenting their claims for the causes of World War I. B.W. Huebsch, ''The German Army in Belgium: The White Book of May 1915'' (1921). The full title was "''The German White Book about the outbreak of the German-Russian-French war''". An authorized English translation appeared in 1914. The book contained extracts of diplomatic material intended to portray the war's cause to other sources. Other combatants in the war published similar books: ''The Blue Book of Britain'', ''The Orange Book of Russia'', and the ''Yellow Book'' of France. The book comprised two sections: * "How Russia and Her Ruler Betrayed Germany's Confidence and Thereby Caused the European War" * "How the German-Franco Conflict Might have been Avoided" and an Appendix with communications between Prince Lichnowsky and Sir Edward Grey Edward Grey, 1st Viscount Grey of Fallodon, (25 April 1862 – ...

Barebook
A barebook computer (or barebone laptop) is an incomplete notebook PC. A barebone laptop is similar to a barebone computer, but in a laptop form. As it leaves the factory, it contains only elements strictly tied to the computer's design (case, motherboard, display, keyboard, pointing device, etc.), and the consumer or reseller has to add standardized off-the-shelf components such as CPU and GPU (when not integrated on the motherboard), memory, mass storage, WiFi card, etc. separately. Because it is not manufactured with storage media such as harddisks or SSDs, a barebook does not typically include an operating system, which may make barebooks appealing to opposers of the bundling of Microsoft Windows. References See also * Barebone computer * Homebuilt computer A custom-built or homebuilt computer is a computer assembled from available components, usually commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components, rather than purchased as a complete system from a computer system sup ...

White Paper
A white paper is a report or guide that informs readers concisely about a complex issue and presents the issuing body's philosophy on the matter. It is meant to help readers understand an issue, solve a problem, or make a decision. A white paper is the first document researchers should read to better understand a core concept or idea. The term originated in the 1920s to mean a type of position paper or industry report published by some department of the UK government. Since the 1990s, this type of document has proliferated in business. Today, a business-to-business (B2B) white paper is closer to a marketing presentation, a form of content meant to persuade customers and partners and promote a certain product or viewpoint. That makes B2B white papers a type of grey literature. In government The term ''white paper'' originated with the British government and many point to the Churchill White Paper of 1922 as the earliest well-known example under this name. Gertrude Bell, the ...

White Booklet
Witte Boekje (English: ''White Booklet'') is the popular name for the Spelling Guide of Our Language (Spellingwijzer Onze Taal), a publication of the Genootschap Onze Taal. The first edition was released in October 1998; the latest edition is the tenth and was released in 2004. All these publications are explanations of the official spelling rules, as set by the Dutch Language Union. Although the words in the guide have been based on the same official rules as the Green Booklet, the spellings in the two booklets do not always match. To aid users, the differences between the White Booklet and Green Booklet are made clear by appending ''GB'' to the differently spelled words. 2006 edition After the spelling reform of 2005, the White Booklet was updated explicitly in a break with the Dutch Language Union. Boycott of official spelling The latest edition will, because of the changes, be unable to bear the official certification mark of the Dutch Language Union. The White Booklet will t ...
