Whimoon High School
Whimoon High School () is a private high school in South Korea, located in Daechi-dong, Seoul. It is one of the oldest high schools in South Korea. History Whimoon High School traces its beginnings to the opening of ''Kwangsung-Euisuk'' in 1901, making it one of the country's oldest high schools still in operation. The founder is Min Young-whi, a nephew of Empress Myeongseong. From the very beginning, Whimoon was intended to be an educational institution to nurture the best and brightest. In 1904, entrance examinations were held to recruit prospective students. Emperor Gojong gave the name school its current the name "Whimoon" in 1906. In 1914, Whimoon Euisuk became Whimoon Private Normal School and then became Whimoon Middle School in 1928, in line with the changing educational policies of the era. Kim Dong-wan (; born November 21, 1979) is a South Korean entertainer, known as a member of South Korean boy band Shinhwa. He has been acting since 2002, and has starred in television dramas such as ''A Farewell to Sorrow'' and ''Children of Heaven''. Kim Dong-ryul (; born March 15, 1974) is a South Korean pop singer-songwriter. He composes, arranges, writes lyrics, produces, and performs his own music. He has been active since 1993. Jeong Ji-yong
Jeong Ji-yong, often romanized in literature as Cheong Chi-yong (; 20 June 1902 – 1950), was a Korean poet and translator of English poetry who "opened a new horizon of poetic possibilities through chiselled expression, tempered sentiments, and precise visual imagery" according to the scholar of Korean poetry, Brother Anthony. Bang Young-ung (20 July 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a South Korean novelist whose works focus on affectionately portraying the lives of ordinary people in contemporary South Korea. Life Bang Yeong-ung was born on 20 July 1942 in Yesan, Chungcheongnam-doo. He graduated from Whimoon High School and made his debut with “The Story of Bullye”, published in the journal Creation and Criticism (Changjak gwa bipyeong) in 1967.
