When In Rome (Cliff Richard Album)
''When in Rome'' is a foreign language studio album by Cliff Richard released in 1965. It is Richard's eighth studio album and fifteenth album overall. The album of mainly Italian songs was recorded in Lisbon and features one track in Portuguese, "Maria Ninguém". The album was originally intended for Richard's Italian audience, but was also released domestically in the UK after Richard's earlier '' When in Spain'' album made the top ten of the UK Album Charts The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. Nico Fidenco (artistic name Domenico Colarossi; 24 January 1933 – 19 November 2022) was an Italian singer and film soundtrack composer who gained considerable popularity in 1960 with the release of the song "What a Sky" (Italian: "''Su nel cielo''"), taken from the film ''Silver Spoon Set'' by Francesco Maselli. Corrado Lojacono (22 January 1924 – 23 October 2012) was an Italian singer, actor, record producer and songwriter. Life and career Born in Palermo, Lojacono moved to Milan with his family in 1931. He started performing in 1945, specializing in a jazz and swing repertoire. Alberto Testa (11 April 1927 – 19 October 2009) was an Italian composer, lyricist, singer, and writer for television. Born at Santos, São Paulo, Brazil, he was known primarily for his work as a lyricist. "Carina" is a 1958 hit song written by Italian singer Corrado Lojacono under the pseudonym of composer "R. Poes", to Italian lyrics by Alberto Testa. Pietro Garinei (1 February 1919 – 9 May 2006) was an Italian playwright, actor, and songwriter. Brother of Enzo Garinei. Biography Garinei was born in Trieste in 1919. He later worked as a sports journalist for the daily newspaper in Milan and Rome, where he met Sandro Giovannini. Garinei and Giovannini discovered a shared interest in music and entertainment, and left the paper shortly after to found a satiric newspaper. In September 1944 they established a musical theater, Cantachiaro, which was named after a weekly satirical magazine they had contributed to. The first star of their theater was Anna Magnani. Following the end of World War II, Garinei and Giovannini collaborated with the Radio RAI.
