''When Women Had Tails'' ( it, Quando le Donne Avevano la Coda) is a 1970 Italian comedy film set in pre-historic times when “women had tails” and were hunted by cavemen. It stars Giuliano Gemma, Senta Berger, and Lando Buzzanca. It was followed by ''When Women Lost Their Tails''. Plot Seven orphan cavemen grow up on a little island all by themselves. After a fire burns all the vegetation, they set out to find a new place to live. One day they trap a strange animal, looking very similar to them, only softer and with longer hair. She, Filli (Senta Berger), is attracted to one of the brothers, Ulli ( Giuliano Gemma), and convinces him that a certain kind of playing with each other is far more satisfying than just eating her. Pasquale Festa Campanile (28 July 1927 – 25 February 1986) was an Italian screenwriter, film director and novelist, best known as a prominent exponent of the commedia all'italiana genre. Life and career Born at Melfi, in the province of Potenza, he moved to Rome at young age. He started as a writer and literary critic. ''La nonna Sabella'', one of his novels, was later adapted by Dino Risi into the movie of the same name, internationally known as ''Oh! Sabella'' (1957). Renzo Montagnani
Renzo Montagnani (September 11, 1930 – May 22, 1997) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Montagnani was born in Alessandria, Piedmont, and debuted as theatre actor thanks to the help of Erminio Macario. His first cinema success was his dramatic role in ''Metello'' (1970), but he later switched to the commedia all'italiana with his roles in the last two chapters of the '' Amici miei'' series (1982 and 1985). In the 1980s he also participated to a TV show as Don Fumino, an easy-speaking Tuscan parish priest. Montagnani also intensively worked as dubber, dubbing actors such as Michel Piccoli, Charles Bronson and Philippe Noiret for the Italian version of movies.
