Clare Bowditch (born 1975) is an Australian musician, actress, radio presenter and business entrepreneur. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2006, Bowditch won the ARIA Award for Best Female Artist and was nominated for a Logie Award for her work on the TV series ''Offspring'' in 2012. She has toured with Gotye and Leonard Cohen, written for ''Harpers Bazaar'', ''Rolling Stone'' and ''Drum''. She currently hosts an Australian music program on a Qantas airlines in-flight audio channel. Bowditch is currently an ambassador for the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA), Pirate Party of Canada (PPCA) and Smiling Mind. The ARIA Music Award for Best Female Artist, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. Machine Translations is the performing name of Greg James Walker (born 1967), an Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist; who is also a producer as J Walker. Walker started out recording all instruments himself in a home studio and later branched out to include a band. Machine Translations' songs vary between simple guitar melodies and complex works with unusual instruments—a spectrum from pop to art. Since 1997 Walker has released several albums. Art of Fighting are an indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. They won the ARIA Award for Best Adult Alternative Album in 2001 for their album '' Wires''. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s.
