''What Do the Stars Say to You'' is a studio album by American house producer Ron Trent, released by Night Time Stories on June 24, 2022. Released under his new project WARM, ''What Do the Stars Say to You'' is his first LP since ''Raw Footage'', which was released in 2011. The album features collaborations with Khruangbin, Gigi Masin, Azymuth's Ivan Conti and Alex Malheriros, Jean-Luc Ponty, Venecia, and Lars Bartkuhn. Critical reception ''Pitchfork''s Ben Cardew gave the album a 7.2 rating out of 10, describing it as "a record of gentle rewards, gradual discovery." ''The Arts Desk''s Barney Harsent rated the album four out of five stars, calling it "a smooth-as-silk success." Ron Trent
Ronald "Ron" Trent (born May 23, 1973) is an American house music DJ and record producer. Music career After experimenting with beat machines and a small keyboard in 1986, he began recording the track "Altered States" while still in high school. He released it on Armando's Warehouse Records in 1990. The track became a club hit among devotees of techno, despite Trent's grounding in the Chicago house scene. He then began working with Detroit producers such as Chez Damier, with whom he issued several singles before co-founding the label Prescription Records in 1993. They also worked with German duo Basic Channel. Later in the 1990s, he moved to Brooklyn and put together a collaboration known as Urban Sound Gallery, or USG. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Jean-Luc Ponty (born 29 September 1942) is a French jazz violinist and composer. Early life Ponty was born into a family of classical musicians in Avranches, France. His father taught violin, his mother taught piano. At sixteen, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, graduating two years later with the institution's highest honor, Premier Prix (first prize). He was hired by the Concerts Lamoureux in which he played for three years. While still a member of the orchestra in Paris, Ponty picked up a side job playing clarinet (which his father had taught him) for a college jazz band, that regularly performed at local parties. Ivan Miguel Conti Maranhão (16 August 1946 – 17 April 2023), also known as Mamão, was a Brazilian drummer, percussionist and composer. He gained prominence as a member of the influential jazz-funk band Azymuth, which he co-founded in 1972. Conti's career began with performances in bossa nova and rock bands, leading to a role as a session drummer for Odeon Records. As a session musician, he collaborated with artists such as Gal Costa, Roberto Carlos and Jorge Ben. Azymuth gained international recognition in the 1970s and signed with Milestone Records in 1979 with whom they recorded a number of albums. Conti also explored solo ventures and electronic dance music collaborations throughout his career. Azymuth is a Brazilian jazz-funk trio formed in 1973. The original band members were the now late Jose Roberto Bertrami (keyboards), plus Alex Malheiros (bass, guitars), and Ivan Conti (drums, percussion). History From 1979 to 1988, they released many albums for Milestone Records. They also had a major hit single with "Jazz Carnival", a product of their ''Light as a Feather'' album, in 1979.
