Unadilla River
The Unadilla River is a river in the Central New York Region of New York State. The river begins northeast of the hamlet of Millers Mills and flows generally south to the village of Sidney, where it converges with the Susquehanna River, which drains into the Chesapeake Bay, a bay of the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the length of the Unadilla forms the western border of Otsego County and the eastern borders of Chenango and Madison counties, all in New York. This border made up a significant portion of the Fort Stanwix Treaty Line of 1768. It was meant to establish the border for an Indian reserve, beyond which European-American settlers were not supposed to go. Settlers resented British efforts to control their movements, and continued to encroach on Native American territories. New Berlin ( ) is a village in Chenango County, New York, United States. The population was 1,028 at the census. The village is by the eastern town line of the town of New Berlin and is northeast of Norwich. History The village was incorporated in 1816. Pittsfield is a town in Otsego County, New York, United States. The population was 1,366 at the 2010 census. The Town of Pittsfield is on the western border of the county, northwest of the City of Oneonta. History The town was first settled ''circa'' 1793. The Town of Pittsfield was formed from part of the Town of Burlington in 1797. The territory of Pittsfield was reduced two times, in 1806 to form Town of New Lisbon, and in 1859 to form part of the Town of Morris.
