Wexford Borough was a United Kingdom Parliament constituency, in Ireland, returning one Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP). It was an original constituency represented in Parliament when the Union of Great Britain and Ireland took effect on 1 January 1801. The 1807 United Kingdom general election was the third general election to be held after the Union of Great Britain and Ireland. The third United Kingdom Parliament was dissolved on 29 April 1807. The new Parliament was summoned to meet on 22 June 1807, for a maximum seven-year term from that date. The maximum term could be and normally was curtailed, by the monarch dissolving the Parliament, before its term expired. 1820 United Kingdom General Election
The 1820 United Kingdom general election was triggered by the death of King George III and produced the first parliament of the reign of his successor, George IV. It was held shortly after the Radical War in Scotland and the Cato Street Conspiracy. In this atmosphere, the Tories under the Earl of Liverpool were able to win a substantial majority over the Whigs. The sixth United Kingdom Parliament was dissolved on 29 February 1820. The new Parliament was summoned to meet on 21 April 1820, for a maximum seven-year term from that date. The maximum term could be and normally was curtailed, by the monarch dissolving the Parliament before its term expired. Political situation The Tory leader was the Earl of Liverpool, who had been Prime Minister since his predecessor's assassination in 1812. This is a list of the Members of Parliament appointed as Escheator of Ulster, a notional 'office of profit under the crown' which was used at times to resign from the Irish House of Commons. The escheator was originally responsible for the administration of escheat , a common law doctrine that transfers the real property of a person who has died without heirs to the crown or state. Steward Of The Manor Of East Hendred
This is a list of the Members of Parliament appointed as Steward of the Manor of East Hendred, a notional 'office of profit under the crown' which was used to resign from the House of Commons. Appointment of an MP to the office was first made in 1763. The Manor of East Hendred was sold by the Crown in 1823, but through oversight, appointments to the post of Steward continued until 1840, after which it was discontinued for Parliamentary purposes in favour of other stewardships. The last steward died in 1851. Stewards Dates given are of the writ to replace the member who accepted the stewardship.
