David Wetherall
David Wetherall (born 14 March 1971) is an English football coach and former professional footballer, who is as head of youth development with the Football League. As a player, he was a central defender, he played most of his career in the Premier League for Leeds United and Bradford City. He started his playing career with Sheffield Wednesday but having failed to make an appearance, he transferred to Leeds and made more than 200 appearances. After this he joined Bradford City for a then club-record fee of £1.4 million and played every minute of every match in his first season for the club and scored the decisive goal which kept the club in the premier league on the final day of the season. Wetherall became the team captain, later finishing his playing career at the end of the 2007–08 season. George Augustus Wetherall
General Sir George Augustus Wetherall, (1788 – 8 April 1868) was a senior British Army officer. Military career As the son of General Sir Frederick Wetherall, George Augustus Wetherall was educated in the senior department of the Royal Military College, and entered the army in 1803. He served as brigade-major at the Cape of Good Hope in 1807, took part in the conquest of Java as aide-de-camp to his father, from 1822 till 1825 was military secretary to the commander-in-chief of Madras, and in 1826 was appointed deputy judge-advocate-general in India. General Wetherall is most famous for his services during the rebellion in Canada of 1837/38 during which he was the Commander of the Royals' 2nd battalion in the Battle of Saint-Charles, a battle part of the Lower Canada Rebellion fought on 25 November 1837 between Great Britain and Lower Canada Patriote rebels. Frederick Augustus Wetherall
Sir Frederick Augustus Wetherall, GCH (1754–1842) was a British General, of Castle Bear House, Ealing. He entered the Army in 1775 as an ensign in the 17th Regiment of Foot and fought in North America at the Siege of Boston and the subsequent evacuation to Halifax in 1776. He was afterwards involved at the battles of Long Island, White Plains, Brandywine and others, before joining HMS ''Alfred'' as captain of Marines and fighting at the Battle of St Vincent. In 1781 he was in Guernsey but in 1783 transferred to the 11th Regiment of Foot and spent 6 years in Gibraltar. In 1790 he was back in the Americas as an aide to the Duke of Kent in Quebec and the West Indies, where he took part in the capture of Martinique. In 1795 he was captured at sea by the French and spent 9 months as a prisoner-of-war. Back in North America he raised a regiment in Nova Scotia of which he was made Colonel in 1803. Harry Wetherall
Lieutenant-General Sir Harry Edward de Robillard Wetherall, (22 February 1889 – 18 November 1979) was an officer in the British Army during the First and Second World Wars. Military career Wetherall was commissioned into the Gloucestershire Regiment in 1909. He served in the First World War in France and Belgium, becoming Commanding Officer of 2/4th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in 1917. In March 1918 he was seriously wounded by a piece of shell in his neck. After the war he became a lieutenant colonel in the Machine Gun Corps and then a General Staff Officer for Weapon Training in Scottish Command in 1930. He then served in Palestine where he was appointed Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment in 1936 and then Commander of 19th Brigade in 1938.
