Barry Westwood
Barry Westwood (7 September 1927 – 3 July 2011) was an English presenter and producer at ITV franchise Southern Television from 1959 until 1981. For most of that time, he was the front-man of '' Day by Day'', the station's evening news magazine, notable for its on-screen harmonious camaraderie. Other notable series include; ''The Race Apart'', ''Afloat'' and ''The Barry Westwood Talkabout''. Known affectionately as "Mr Southern Television", he retired and up until his death resided in Buckinghamshire. He died in hospital on 13 July 2011 at the age 83. William James Westwood
William James Westwood (August 19, 1887—March 7, 1962) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1917 to 1920, and again from 1932 to 1936. Westwood was born in Pendinnis, Manitoba, the son of Fred T. Westwood and Sarah Jane Gregory, and was educated at Rapid City and Brandon Baptist College. He worked as a notary public and municipal clerk, and served as secretary of the Roblin Pool Elevator Association. He worked with the Union Bank of Canada in Roblin from December 1906 to November 1917. In 1912, Westwood married Carrie Marie Hartford. From 1920 to 1946, he was secretary-treasurer for the Rural Municipality of Shell River. Westwood was mayor of Roblin from 1944 to 1946. In 1945, he moved to Russell, where he purchased a hardware store which he operated with his sons until 1960. William Westwood (bushranger)
William Westwood (7 August 1820 – 13 October 1846), also known as Jackey Jackey, was an English-born convict who became a bushranger in Australia. Born in Essex, Westwood had already served one year in prison for highway robbery before his transportation at age 16 to the penal colony of New South Wales on a conviction of stealing a coat. He arrived in 1837 and was sent to Phillip Parker King's station near Bungendore as an assigned servant, but grew to resent working there due to mistreatment from the property's overseer. In 1840, after receiving 50 lashes for attempting to escape, Westwood took up bushranging. The following year, troopers captured Westwood at Berrima, where he was convicted of armed robbery and horse stealing and sentenced to life imprisonment at Darlinghurst Gaol. Westwood escaped again and continued bushranging until his re-capture in July 1841. Dame Vivienne Isabel Westwood (née Swire; born 8 April 1941) is an English fashion designer and businesswoman, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream. William John Westwood (28 December 1925 – 15 September 1999) was the 36th Anglican Bishop of Peterborough. Life Born at Saul, Gloucestershire, Westwood was educated at Grove Park Grammar School, Wrexham and Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
