Westmount–Saint-Louis
Westmount–Saint-Louis is a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It comprises the city of Westmount as well as parts of the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and Ville-Marie boroughs of Montreal, including most of downtown. It was created for the 1994 election from parts of Saint-Louis, Westmount and Sainte-Anne electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost a very small amount of territory to the Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne electoral district. Jacques Chagnon
Jacques Chagnon (born August 28, 1952) is a retired Canadian politician who served in the National Assembly of Quebec from 1985 to 2018. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Concordia University and graduate degrees in political science and in Law from the Université de Montréal. He is a former school board commissioner, former president of the Chambly regional school board and the former president of the Fédération des commission scolaires catholiques du Québec. He represented the electoral districts of Saint-Louis from 1985 to 1994 and Westmount–Saint-Louis from 1994 to 2018 as a member of the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP). He was the Minister of Education in the government of Daniel Johnson from January 11, 1994 to September 26, 1994 when the QLP was defeated in the 1994 election. Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne is a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It comprises all of the Le Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal. It was created for the 1994 election from parts of Saint-Henri and Saint-Anne electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it only went minor changes; gaining some territory from the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce electoral district, and a tiny amount of territory from the Westmount–Saint-Louis electoral district. Le Plateau-Mont-Royal () is a borough (''arrondissement'') of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Plateau-Mont-Royal takes its name from its location on a plateau, on the eastern side of Mont-Royal and overlooking downtown Montreal, across its southern border. Ville-Marie is the name of a borough (''arrondissement'') in the centre of Montreal, Quebec. The borough is named after Fort Ville-Marie, the French settlement that would later become Montreal (now Old Montreal), which was located within the present-day borough. Outremont (provincial Electoral District)
Outremont was a provincial electoral district in the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. It comprised all of the borough of Outremont and parts of the boroughs of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (part of Mile End), Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (part of Côte-des-Neiges) and a very small part of Ville-Marie. It was created for the 1966 election from parts of Montréal-Outremont and Westmount–Saint-Georges electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. A by-election took place on December 9, 2013, in which Philippe Couillard, leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, won over 50 percent of votes. Westmount was a former provincial electoral district located in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada. It corresponded to the city of Westmount in Montreal. It was created for the 1912 election from Montréal–Saint-Georges. It disappeared in the 1939 election and its successor election was Westmount–Saint-Georges. Brent Tyler is a lawyer in Quebec, Canada, known for his frequent court challenges to "Bill 101", Quebec's Charter of the French Language. He was temporarily disbarred in March 2016 for having not filed financial reports with the Quebec Bar Association.
