Westmount Secondary School
Westmount Secondary School is secondary school in Hamilton Ontario, Canada. It is a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. The school opened in 1961, and has a 2017-2018 enrolment of 1520 students. Programs The school is a member of the Canadian Coalition of Self-Directed Learning. Westmount also offers gifted classes, special education classes, as well as an ESL program. Since 1990, Westmount has operated under a self-directed learning program; more commonly referred to as a self-paced environment. This allows students to be able to complete work at their own pace, by enabling them with the abilities to carry over unfinished courses into the next semester, or fast-track them and finish earlier. It is one of the only schools with this program in Canada, and often plays host to international visitors wishing to view the teaching process in person. Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Hamilton has a population of 569,353, and its census metropolitan area, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, has a population of 785,184. Pacific Mambo Orchestra is a Latin dance music orchestra based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their debut album was released in October 2012, and they received a Grammy Award for the album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. History The Pacific Mambo Orchestra was founded in 2010 by Mexican Pianist Christian Tumalan and German Trumpeter Steffen Kuehn, and is a 19-piece Latin Big Band orchestra that plays salsa, Latin Jazz, cha cha cha, bachata, and other Latin music. Rarity is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, formed in 2014. The band consists of lead vocalist Loeden Learn, guitarists Adam Clarke, bass guitarist Cole Gardner, and drummer Evan Woods. They signed with Rise Records and released their debut EP, ''Alive In Your Eyes'' in 2015. The band released their debut studio album, ''I Couldn't Be Weaker'', in April 2016. The group has toured with multiple musical groups such as Silverstein, Vanna, Being As An Ocean, Emarosa, Coldrain, Seaway and State Champs. Jim Witter (born November 2, 1964) is a Canadian award-winning country music and Christian music singer/songwriter. Ten of Witter's songs reached the top 10 on Canadian country radio. Biography Jim Witter grew up playing music. In 1982, he performed four songs on the "Music for Safe Water" compilation by 1280 CHAM radio. As a teenager, while still in high school, Jim honed his musical talents by playing evenings at a piano bar and restaurant called Snuggles, in Hamilton Ont. In 1990, one of Witter's demos caught the attention of a Sony Music Canada executive. Within three years, Witter was signed to FRE Records. His debut album, ''Jim Witter'', was released in 1993. Wei Chen is a Canadian television and radio journalist. Born in Taiwan, she started her career with stations in London and Hamilton. She has worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation before moving to ''Canada AM'', the morning show at the CTV Television Network.
