Westfields Football Club is a football team from Hereford, England, formed in 1966 and currently playing in the . The club is affiliated to the Herefordshire County FA. History Westfields FC were formed in November 1966 by a group of local youths who played friendlies on Widemarsh Common. One of the youths, Andy Morris, is still involved with the club and is now its chief executive. Westfields initially entered the Herefordshire Sunday League, where they played for ten years, winning a number of trophies. In 1973, they fielded their first Saturday team in the Worcester and District League. Two years later they moved their ground from the King George V playing fields to Thorn Lighting's Rotherwas headquarters where they gradually developed the ground over the subsequent years. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. Midland Football Alliance
The Midland Football Alliance was an English association football league for semi-professional teams. It covered Leicestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and also southern parts of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The league consisted of a single division which sat at Step 5 of the National League System, or the ninth level of the overall English football league system. The league was formed in 1994, drawing its initial membership from the strongest clubs in the Midland Football Combination and the West Midlands (Regional) League, both of which became feeder leagues to the new competition. Each season, the champion club of each feeder league was eligible for promotion to the Alliance, and Alliance clubs could in turn be relegated to the feeder leagues. Aidan Thomas is an English football midfielder who plays for Westfields after leaving Hereford United of League Two in May 2011. Playing career Thomas, a Hereford United youth team graduate, was handed the number 19 shirt for the 2010–11 season, signing a one-year professional deal. However, he started his professional career battling against injury. He recovered to make his debut on 6 November 2010, replacing Rob Purdie 75 minutes into a 5–1 home win over Hythe Town in the FA Cup First Round. His second appearance came in the Fourth Round of the competition, he replaced James McQuilkin on 81 minutes as Sheffield Wednesday won 4–1 at Hillsborough on 29 January 2011. Craig Nicholas Jones (born 19 December 1989) is an English football midfield player, who plays for Westfields. He started his career at Hereford Lads Club. He was then scouted by Cardiff City, where he remained for several years before joining the Hereford United youth set up. Due to injuries to several other players Jones featured on the bench in two League matches at the beginning of December. He made his debut for Hereford in the 2–0 home defeat against Colchester United when he came on as a substitute for Stephen O'Leary in a game that relegated the club back into Football League Two. On 27 March 2008 he was loaned to Bromsgrove Rovers for a month. In December 2008 he was loaned to Conference North side Redditch United for a month where he played in two league matches.
