Westfalia Rhynern
Westfalia Rhynern is a German association football club from the district of Rhynern in the city of Hamm, Westphalia. History The club was established in 1935 as ''Turn- und Sportverein Rhynern'', but disappeared after two years when, like many other clubs, it was caught up in the politically motivated sports policies of the Nazi regime. Following World War II, a group that included many of the club's pre-war membership reformed the club in 1946 as ''Sportverein Westfalia Rhynern''. The footballers advanced to the Verbandsliga Westfalen (V) in 1997 and two years later narrowly missed promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen (IV) when they finished just two points behind champions '' SC Herford''. In 2002, the team slipped to the Landesliga Westfalen (VI) after losing a decisive match to '' Borussia Emsdetten''. Björn Mehnert
Björn Mehnert (born 24 August 1976) is a German football manager and a former player who played as a defender or midfielder. Career Mehnert began his career with his hometown club, Borussia Dortmund, and progressed through the reserve team, being promoted to the first-team squad of the then-European champions in 1997. He made his debut in the second leg of the UEFA Super Cup against Barcelona, replacing Steffen Freund as a 20th-minute substitute, and made three appearances in the Bundesliga, and one in the Champions League, against Sparta Prague. Mehnert left Dortmund at the end of the 1997–98 season, joining ambitious Regionalliga side LR Ahlen, but returned six months later for another couple of seasons in Dortmund's reserve team. SC Herford
SC Herford is a German association football club based in Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club was formed out of the merger of several local sides in the late 1960s and early 1970s and then went on to enjoy a short turn in second division football in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The footballers are today part of a larger sports club which has departments for athletics, badminton, handball, judo, swimming, table tennis, and volleyball. Dennis Buschening ( th, เดนนิส บุสเชนิ่ง; born 2 March 1991) is a German-Thai professional footballer who as a forward. Club career Buschening learned to play football in the youth departments of Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund and Rot-Weiss Essen. He signed his first contract with Westfalia Rhynern, a club that played in the NRW-Liga. After 33 games, he moved to SC Verl in the Regionalliga in 2011 and then, from 2012 to 2013, to Hammer SpVg in Oberliga Westfalen. In 2013 he left Germany and moved to Thailand. Here he signed a contract with the first division side Buriram United from Buriram. After six months he was loaned to league rivals BEC Tero Sasana FC to Bangkok. After the end of his contract with Buriram, he joined Army United in 2014, a club that also played in the first division, the Thai League 1, and is based in Bangkok. Salvatore Gambino (born 27 November 1983) is an Italian-German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, but could play as a striker as well. Career Having joined Borussia Dortmund in 1996, Gambino played in the club's youth teams before being promoted to the reserve team. In the 2003–04 season he had 20 Bundesliga appearances with the first team. Struggling with injuries, Gambino managed ten league games in the 2004–05 season. In summer 2006, Gambino transferred to 1. NRW-Liga
The Nordrhein-Westfalen-Liga (''North Rhine-Westphalia League''; NRW-Liga) was the highest football league in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) from 2008 to 2012. It was one of the eleven Oberliga groups in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. With the reorganisation of the German league system in 2012, the NRW-Liga was disbanded once more as the Regionalliga West above it would then only contain clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia. The Landesliga Westfalen is a German amateur football division administered by the Westphalian Football and Athletics Association, one of the 21 German state football associations. Being the third level of the Westphalian state association, the Landesliga is currently a level seven division of the German football league system. The Oberliga Westfalen is the highest level football league in the region of Westphalia, which is part of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The league existed from 1978 to 2008, but was then replaced by the NRW-Liga, a new statewide league.
