WestfalenBahn is a railway company operating regional train service in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, Northern Germany. It was founded in 2005 by Essener Versorgungs & Verkehrsgesellschaft, Minden Museum Railway, moBiel and Verkehrsbetriebe Extertal, each having a 25% share. In 2008 Essener Versorgungs & Verkehrsgesellschaft's share was sold to Abellio Deutschland. In July 2017 Abellio bought out the other shareholders. Services WestfalenBahn has operated routes RB61, RB65, RB66 and RB72 since 9 December 2007. These will pass to Eurobahn in December 2017.Welcome to Abellio

Abellio Deutschland is a public transit operator in Germany operating bus and rail networks. Headquartered in Berlin, it is a subsidiary of the Dutch state-owned Abellio. History Abellio Deutschland was formed by the Essen public transit company ( EVAG, today part of Ruhrbahn) in 2004. Detmold Station is the main train station of the city of Detmold in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was opened in 1880. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station, and has two platform tracks. The station building was thoroughly renovated in 2006 and 2007. The Herford–Himmighausen railway is a 48 km-long line from Herford via Detmold to Himmighausen (leading to Altenbeken) and is a single-track and electrified main line. It is located in Ostwestfalen-Lippe in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and is part of Deutsche Bahn’s Münster-Ostwestfalen regional network (MOW), which has its headquarters in Münster. Herford Station
Herford station is a junction station with four platforms and seven platform tracks in the town of Herford in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies on the quadruple track, electrified Hamm–Minden railway, a section of the original route of the historic Cologne-Minden Railway Company. In Herford Station, the line to Altenbeken branches off to the south and the Ravensberg Railway branches off towards the north to Bünde and Rahden with a connection to the Löhne–Rheine railway. Bünde Station
Bünde (Westf) station is located in Bünde in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Löhne–Rheine railway and Rahden–Herford railway. The rail services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, WestfalenBahn and Eurobahn. History The main line between Löhne and Rheine opened in 1856 as part of the Hanoverian Western Railway. Wanne-Eickel–Hamburg Railway
The Wanne-Eickel–Hamburg railway is the shortest railway link between the Metropole Ruhr and the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and hence one of the most important railway lines in northwest Germany. The Route runs over the cities Münster (Westfalen), Osnabrück and Bremen. It was built between 1870 and 1874 by the Cologne-Minden Railway Company (CME) based in Wanne-Eickel, and branched off their main (Cologne-)Deutz–Minden route as part of the Hamburg-Venlo railway. Münster Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station in the city of Münster in Germany. History The original Münster station was opened in 1848 by the Münster-Hamm Railway Company, when it opened by the Münster–Hamm railway to the then capital of the Prussian Province of Westphalia as a terminus of its branch line from Hamm, where it connected with Cologne-Minden trunk line. It is the terminus of the Emsland Railway, connecting Emden with Münster and the Ruhr and the starting point of the East Frisian coastal railway from Emden to Norden and Norddeich, both of which are electrified.
