Western Yell County High School is comprehensive public high school located in the rural, distant community of Havana, Arkansas, United States. The school provides secondary education for students in grades 7 through 12 for the rural communities of Havana and Belleville and nearby unincorporated communities of western Yell County, Arkansas. It is the sole high school administered by the Western Yell County School District. Its boundary includes Havana, Belleville, and a part of Corinth. Havana, Arkansas
Havana is a city in northwest Yell County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 375 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Russellville Micropolitan Statistical Area. Arkansas Scenic State Highway 309 leads from Havana to the top of Mount Magazine, home of Arkansas's newest State Park, and the highest peak in Arkansas. Havana is located between Booneville and Danville on State Highway 10. The area has views of Mount Magazine, the tallest mountain in Arkansas. History According to a few residences, who have lived in the community since incorporation, a group of landowners got together in thoughts of incorporating, back when the city of Belleville was a bustling town (due to the railroad that went through the town at the time).
