Western United Football Club Youth is the youth system of Western United Football Club based in Truganina, Melbourne, Australia. The youth teams will play in the National Premier Leagues Victoria 2, the second level of soccer in Victoria, Australia. Diogo Ferreira is the current youth manager. History Formation The team was founded in 2020, with Ante Moric being announced as the inaugural head coach for the 2021 season. Diogo Ferreira
Diogo Alexandre Alves Ferreira (born 5 October 1989) is an Australian footballer who plays as a midfielder. Early career At the age of 16, Ferreira completed a successful trial with FC Porto and was signed to the club's youth academy. Whilst in Portugal, he was loaned out to a second division team. At the age of 18, Ferreira thought it was time to return to Australia, and returned to Green Gully, his childhood club. Ferreira was then signed to Melbourne Victory's youth team playing in the National Youth League. He was a key player for two seasons, and was therefore promoted to the club's senior team. Club career On 31 March 2010, Ferreira made his senior debut for Melbourne Victory in their 1–0 victory over Kawasaki Frontale in the Asian Champions League. Noah Vinko Botic (born 11 January 2002) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a forward for Western United. Club career Early career Botic was born in Sydney, Australia, and played for numerous different clubs in Australia at youth level. Vaughan Coveny (born 13 December 1971) is a retired football player who frequently represented New Zealand in international matches. Coveny's senior club career spanned 20 years, with his most notable stint being at South Melbourne during their National Soccer League era. Mate Dugandzic ( hr, Mate Dugandžić; born 22 October 1989) is a retired Australian football player. He is known for being the first player to make a direct switch between both Melbourne clubs in the A-League when he moved from Melbourne Victory to join Melbourne Heart in 2011. He was also part of the Adelaide United squad that went on to win both the 2015–16 A-League Premiers Plate and the 2016 A-League Grand Final. Andrew James Durante (born 3 May 1982 in Sydney, New South Wales) is a retired New Zealand international footballer. He is currently the Player Welfare and Development Manager at Western United while also working as a Senior Academy Assistant Coach at the club. Born in Sydney, Australia, Durante played youth football with Sydney Olympic before making his senior debut at the club. He also played for Parramatta Power before moving to Singapore to play for Balestier Khalsa. After returning to Australia to play for Sydney United, Durante joined Newcastle Jets in the newly formed A-League. Anthony Frost (born 1951) is a British painter noted for his abstract works consisting of brightly coloured prints and collages. Biography Frost was born in St. Ives, Cornwall, the son of Sir Terry Frost. From 1970 to 1973 he studied at the Cardiff College of Art gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. His work featured in the "Art Now Cornwall" exhibition at Tate St Ives in 2007. He has been Artist-in-residence at the Cyprus College of Art, Paphos and the Montmiral School of Painting, France. Frost is a fan of The Fall and his work appears on a number of their record covers, most notably ''Extricate''.
