Western Province Women's Cricket Team
The Western Province women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for part of the South African province of Western Cape, primarily based in Cape Town. They compete in the CSA Women's Provincial Programme, Women's Provincial Programme and the CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition, and they are the most successful side in both competitions, with 8 and 7 title wins, respectively. History Western Province Women first competed in the Simon Trophy between 1951–52 and 1975–76, winning the title a recorded three times. They joined the CSA Women's Provincial Programme, Inter-Provincial One-Day Tournament for its inaugural season in 1995–96, and have competed in every season since. They finished as runners-up to England women's cricket team, England Under-21s in 1997–98. Claire Simone Terblanche (born 20 October 1984) is a South African former cricketer and cricket coach. She played as a right-handed batter, right-arm off break bowler and occasional wicket-keeper. 2019–20 CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition
The 2019–20 CSA Women's Provincial T20 Competition was the 8th edition of South Africa's provincial Twenty20 cricket tournament. It ran from October 2019 to March 2020, with 16 provincial teams taking part. The tournament was curtailed by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Western Province winning their sixth T20 title based on an adjusted points system. Competition format The 16 teams were divided into three divisions: a top division named "Top 6", and two lower divisions, Pools A and B. Teams played each other team in their group once in a round-robin format, with matches played using a Twenty20 format. The winner of the Top 6 group was crowned Champions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the final five matches in the Top 6 league were cancelled. The points given to each team were therefore adjusted to simulate an equal number of matches played. Faye Tunnicliffe (born 9 December 1998) is a South African cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter. In August 2018, she was named in the South Africa Women's squad for their series against the West Indies Women. Delmi Tucker
Delmi Tucker (born 5 March 1997) is a South African cricketer who plays for Western Province, Duchesses and South Africa. She made her international debut for South Africa in June 2022. Career Tucker attended Hoërskool Menlopark school in Pretoria, where she played hockey and cricket. Tucker went on to play hockey for Northerns, before turning her focus to cricket. Yasmeen Khan (born 7 January 1999) is a Namibian cricketer and a former captain of the women's national cricket team. Currently the vice captain, she plays as a right-handed batter, right-arm medium pace bowler, and occasional wicket-keeper.
