Westend-Nord and Westend-Süd are two city districts of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The division into a northern and a southern part is mostly for administrative purposes as the Westend () is generally considered an entity. Both city districts are part of the ''Ortsbezirk Innenstadt II''. The Westend with its Wilhelminian style buildings is a beloved residential quarter and has the highest real estate prices in Frankfurt. Many old villas serve as offices for law firms and companies of the financial community. Westend, Espoo
Westend is a district of the city of Espoo, Finland. It is located next to Tapiola and about ten kilometers from the center of Helsinki. From Westend you can get to Helsinki along Länsiväylä ( National road 51). Known as an affluent area, Westend is the wealthiest postal code area of Finland by mean household income. In 2019, the area was home to more than 3,000 residents. Westend is a part of the " Greater Tapiola" district, which also comprises Haukilahti, Laajalahti, Mankkaa, Niittykumpu, Otaniemi, Pohjois-Tapiola and Tapiola. There are other wealthy neighborhoods with the same name in the UK and the US. The most well known example being West End of London. Contrary to the district's name, Westend is located in the very southeastern corner of Espoo, west from the Helsinki city centre, by the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Westend () is a Boroughs and localities of Berlin, locality of the Berlin borough Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf in Germany. It emerged in the course of Berlin's 2001 administrative reform on the grounds of the former Charlottenburg borough. Originally a mansion colony, it is today a quite densely settled, still affluent territory adjacent to Berlin's inner city in the east. Geography Westend is situated west of Berlin's inner city on Spandauer Berg, the northern peak of the sandy Teltow (region), Teltow plateau between the river valleys of Spree (river), Spree and Havel. Westend (Trevilians, Virginia)
Westend is a temple-fronted house near Trevilians, Virginia, United States. Built in 1849, the house's design refers to the Classical Revival style, representing an extension of the Jeffersonian ideal of classical architecture. The house was built for Mrs. Susan Dabney Morris Watson on a property that she had inherited from her late husband. The building project was supervised by Colonel James Magruder. The house was the centerpiece of a substantial plantation, and a number of dependencies, including slave dwellings, survive. Westend remains in the ownership of the descendants of Mrs. Watson. The two-story house is built of brick, and features a tetrastyle Tuscan portico on its principal facade. The main three-bay section is flanked by three-bay, one-story wings and surmounted by a hipped roof with prominent interior chimneys. The fronts of these wings were originally orangeries. Austria was represented by Westend, with the song "Hurricane", at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Munich on 23 April. Westend was the winner of the Austrian national final for the contest, held on 17 March. The song was chosen through a national final organised by broadcaster ORF. Before Eurovision National final The final was held at the ORF TV Studios in Vienna, hosted by Brigitte Xander. The winning song was chosen by 328 people aged between 16 and 60. Waterloo represented Austria in alongside Robinson. At Eurovision On the night of the final Westend performed 18th in the running order, following Portugal and preceding Belgium. At the close of voting "Hurricane" placing Austria 9th of the 20 entries. The Austrian jury awarded its 12 points to the runner-up, Ofra Haza from Israel.
