Woodland Park, Colorado
Woodland Park is home rule municipality in Teller County, Colorado, United States. Woodland Park is part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Many residents in this bedroom community commute to Colorado Springs. Woodland Park is surrounded by the Pike National Forest. The population was 7,920 as of the 2020 Census. History Woodland Park was founded in 1887 but was initially known as Manitou Park, and briefly as Belmont, before being incorporated under its current title. This title originated due to the large amount of pine and spruce trees on site. Deckers, Colorado
Deckers is an unincorporated community along the South Platte River in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. Stephen Decker built a general store here in the 1890s. He later added a saloon and called the settlement "Daffodil." The presence of natural springs led him to establish Deckers Mineral Springs and Resort in the popular region for fly-fishing. Deckers received national attention for the June 2002 forest fire, known as the Hayman Fire, which burned thousands of acres on the outskirts of the Denver metro area. State Highway 67 (SH 67) is a state highway encompassing five distinct segments in south-central Colorado. SH 67's southern terminus is at SH 96 in Wetmore, and the northern terminus is at U.S. Route 85 (US 85) in Sedalia. It traverses the former route of the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad through Phantom Canyon as a county road and carrying part of the Gold Belt Byway.
