Westbury Park, Bristol
Westbury Park is a suburb of the city of Bristol, United Kingdom. It lies to the east of Durdham Down between the districts of Redland and Henleaze. The area is very similar in character to nearby Redland and comprises mainly Victorian and early twentieth-century architecture, along with a selection of Georgian buildings. Many of these buildings still have their original house names and many Victorian artifacts have been found in the gardens of Westbury Park. The area was once part of the parish of Westbury-on-Trym, from which it takes its name. Westbury Park Primary School lies in the southern side of the area and was established in 1893. Major roads within Westbury Park include North View, Coldharbour Road, Linden Road and Redland Road. Politics Westbury Park is split between the Parliamentary constituencies of Bristol West and Bristol North West. The MPs for those constituencies are Thangam Debbonaire and Darren Jones respectively. Darren Jones (politician)
Darren Paul Jones (born 13 November 1986) is a British Labour politician serving as Chair of the House of Commons Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee since 2020. He also sits on the National Security Strategy Joint Committee and the Liaison Committee, which scrutinises the work of the Prime Minister. He has been the Member of Parliament for Bristol North West since 2017. Early life and education Jones was born in his constituency of Bristol North West and grew up in Lawrence Weston. Long Ashton
Long Ashton is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England. It falls within the unitary authority of North Somerset and is one of a number of large villages just outside the boundary of city of Bristol urban area. The parish has a population of 6,044. The parish includes the hamlet of Yanley, and the residential area of Leigh Woods (although most of the woods themselves are in the neighbouring parish of Abbots Leigh). The village is built on the south-facing slopes of a valley running from east to west, and on the old road from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare. History Prehistoric and Roman artefacts have been found in the area, at the site of the Gatcombe Roman Settlement, but the village originated in Saxon times. Stoke Bishop
Stoke Bishop is a medium-sized outer city suburb in the north-west of Bristol, located in between Westbury-on-Trym, Sneyd Park, and Sea Mills. Although relatively low, Stoke Bishop's population has increased due to substantial infilling on the ''Smelting Works'' sports ground and ''The Grove'' which used to belong to Clifton High school. The population of Stoke Bishop varies throughout the year because of the influx of students to the large campus of Bristol University halls of residence situated on the edge of the suburb and the Downs during term time. Cribbs Causeway
Cribbs Causeway is both a road in South Gloucestershire, England, running north of the city of Bristol, and the adjacent area which is notable for its out-of-town shopping and leisure facilities. The retail and leisure complex takes its name from the road, and includes retail parks, supermarkets, an enclosed shopping centre known as The Mall, an ice-rink, a cinema, a ten-pin bowling alley, and a gym. The Cribbs Causeway road is a historic route, as it follows a section of a Roman road from Sea Mills to South Gloucestershire, part of a longer Roman route from Gloucester to the south-west of England. The modern road of that name is situated north of Bristol, and west of the town of Patchway, in the civil parish of Almondsbury.
