Ayrshire
Ayrshire ( gd, Siorrachd Inbhir Àir, ) is a historic county and registration county in south-west Scotland, located on the shores of the Firth of Clyde. Its principal towns include Ayr, Kilmarnock and Irvine and it borders the counties of Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire to the north-east, Dumfriesshire to the south-east, and Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire to the south. Radio Clyde is a group of two Independent Local Radio stations serving Glasgow and West Central Scotland. Radio Clyde is owned and operated by Bauer, based at studios in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire and forms part of Bauer's Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio Network of local stations. History Radio Clyde began broadcasting as the commercial radio station in Scotland at 10.30pm on Monday 31 December 1973. It was the first ILR station outside London, on 261 metres medium wave and 95.1 FM (later moving to 102.5 FM). Its original slogan was ''Radio Clyde, 261, all together now''. Northsound 2 is an Independent Local radio station based in Aberdeen, Scotland, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to Aberdeenshire. As of September 2022, the station has a weekly audience of 24,000 weekly listeners according to RAJAR. History Northsound Radio commenced broadcasting at 6am on 27 July 1981 from converted studios in an old schoolhouse on Kings Gate, near Anderson Drive in Aberdeen. Bauer Media Audio UK is a UK-based radio division of the Bauer Media Group. History In early 2008, German magazine publisher Bauer bought the radio division of British company Emap, which had been established as East Midland Allied Press in 1947. Consequently, Emap Radio Limited was renamed to Bauer Radio Limited. Forth 2 is an Independent Local Radio station based in Edinburgh, Scotland, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to Edinburgh, Lothian, Fife and West Central Scotland. As of September 2022, the station has a weekly audience of 73,000 listeners according to RAJAR. South West Scotland
South West Scotland is an ambiguous term that can include Ayrshire, Galloway, Dumfriesshire, the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, as well as Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire.
