West Kerry Senior Football Championship
The West Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition between clubs affiliated to the West Kerry GAA, West Kerry division of the Gaelic Athletic Association. An Ghaeltacht GAA, An Ghaeltacht , Annascaul GAA, Abha Na Scáil , Castlegregory GAA, Caisleán Ghriare , Dingle GAA, Daingean Uí Chúis & Lios Póil are the five teams. 2022 Championship West Kerry Senior Football Championship 2021 was won by Dingle to complete their fifth title in a row. Gaelic Football
Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. A goal is awarded for kicking the ball under the crossbar into the net (the ball cannot be hand-passed into the goal), signalled by the umpire raising a green flag. North Kerry Senior Football Championship
The North Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition for Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA clubs affiliated to the North Kerry Division of Kerry GAA, Kerry. The official name of the competition is The Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship, in honour of the late Bernie O'Callaghan (Beale) who was Chairman of the North Kerry GAA Board for 25 years (1974 to 1998) and did a huge amount of work for North Kerry football. The Championship runs from October to December each year but has on occasion continued into the New Year due to replays and postponements. East Kerry Senior Football Championship
The East Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition for teams affiliated to the East Kerry division. Most adult clubs in the division compete for this cup, even if they are playing at junior or intermediate grades. In recent years, the competition has been dominated by Dr Crokes, who won their thirtieth championship in December 2018. The winners receive the Dr O'Donoghue Cup. Paul Geaney
Paul Geaney (born 27 November 1990) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Dingle and at senior level for the Kerry county team. He usually lines out as a forward. Career Geaney first came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Dingle club. He joined the club's senior team in 2007 and won a Kerry Club Championship title in 2015. Geaney first lined out at inter-county level as captain of the Kerry minor team that won the Munster Minor Championship in 2008. After an unsuccessful two-year tenure with the Kerry under-21 team, he was drafted onto the Kerry senior football team during the 2011 league. After a number of years as a panel member, Geaney eventually broke onto the starting fifteen and was at right corner-forward when Kerry beat Donegal in the 2014 All-Ireland SFC final. Marc Ó Sé
Marc Ó Sé (born 25 April 1980) is an Irish sportsman. A teacher by profession, he works in the CBS in Tralee Co. Kerry, he played Gaelic football for the Kerry county football team, Kerry county team from 2002 until 2016 and played with his local club team An Ghaeltacht GAA, An Ghaeltacht until 2018. Tom O'Sullivan (Dingle Gaelic Footballer)
Thomas O'Sullivan (born 1 November 1996) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level he plays with Dingle, and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career O'Sullivan first played Gaelic football to a high standard as a schoolboy at Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne. He was part of the school team that won back-to-back Hogan Cup titles in 2014 and 2015, while he was also part of four Corn Uí Mhuirí-winning teams. At club level, O'Sullivan plays with Dingle. After a Kerry MFC success in 2014, he has since gone on to win numerous West Kerry SFC titles, as well as a Kerry Club FC title in 2015. Tomás Mac an tSaoir (born 1990 in County Kerry) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with An Rinn having transferred from his local club An Ghaeltacht in 2022 and is a former member of the senior Kerry county football team. Kerins O'Rahilly's are a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Tralee, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. They are based in the Strand Road area of the town.
