West Indian Cricket Team In South Africa In 2022–23
The West Indies men's cricket team toured South Africa in February and March 2023 to play two Test matches, three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed the fixtures for the tour in October 2022. South Africa won the Test series 2–0. The ODI series drew (1–1) between the two sides with the first game being abandoned due to rain. West Indies won the T20I series 2–1. Squads On 6 March 2023, Anrich Nortje was ruled out of second test due to mild groin discomfort. Initially, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Wayne Parnell were selected only for the third match in South Africa's ODI squad. Temba Bavuma
Temba Bavuma (born 17 May 1990) is a South African international cricketer who currently is the captain of the South African cricket team in white-ball cricket. He also vice-captains South Africa in Test cricket. He is a right-handed batter and was the first black African cricketer to make a Test century for South Africa and the first to captain the side. Bavuma is only the second South African cricketer to score a century on ODI debut, scoring 113 runs against Ireland in September 2016. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Keegan Darryl Petersen (born 8 August 1993) is a South African cricketer. Senuran Muthusamy (born 22 February 1994) is a South African cricketer. He made his international debut for the South Africa cricket team in October 2019. Wiaan Mulder
Pieter Willem Adriaan Mulder (born 19 February 1998), known as Wiaan Mulder, is a South African first-class cricketer. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for South Africa in October 2017 and his Test debut in March 2019. In domestic cricket, Mulder plays for Imperial Lions (formerly Highveld Lions) and Gauteng. He was born in Johannesburg and educated at St Stithians College. He played age-group cricket for Gauteng from under-13 level onwards. Keshav Atmanand Maharaj (born 7 February 1990) is a South African professional cricketer who plays for the South Africa national team in Tests, One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. Heinrich Klaasen (born 30 July 1991) is a South African cricketer who plays for the South African national cricket team. He was included in the Northerns cricket team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. Simon Ross Harmer (born 10 February 1989) is a South African international cricketer. He plays for South Africa primarily as an off-break bowler but is also a capable lower order batsman. Dean Elgar (born 11 June 1987) is a South African cricketer who plays Tests and ODIs, and is the current Test captain. He is a left-handed opening batsman and a slow-left arm bowler. The captain of a cricket team, often referred to as the skipper, is the appointed leader, having several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of the other players.
